Brody:Nope! No take backs. I’m a dragon. The end.

Cash:I need to get back to work.

Brody:Oh please. Now you’re insulting me. I know you’re not at the recording studio today.

Cash:Maybe I need to write some songs for the new album. Ever think of that?

Riley:You cured your writer’s block?

Elder:I bet Indigo cured his writer’s block.

Cash:How the hell do you know about my writer’s block?

Brody:Welcome to Winter Falls.

Cash:Not sure I want to stay here if everyone’s going to be in my business all the time.

Damon:You’re staying?

Cash:I have an album to record.

Riley:I guess you better write some songs.

Brody:We’ll leave it to you, bro.

Peace:Are the wonder twins actually being reasonable?

Damon:No. They’re up to something.

Cash has left the conversation.

Brody:He’s cute. I’ll let him think he can leave the conversation. For now.

Chapter 14

Writer’s block – an inability to write a love song because you’re too busy trying to live a long song

Indigo

“What are you doing?”

I startle at Cash’s question and nearly drop the box I’m carrying.

“What does it look like I’m doing?” I nod toward the boxes on the floor.

“You’re cleaning out your grandmother’s house?”

“Ding. Ding. Ding. Got it one go!”

“But why? If you’re going to live here for a year, won’t you need things?”

I roll my eyes. “I hardly need five hundred Harlequin romance books.”

“You don’t? I remember you used to inhale your mom’s old romance books.”

Of course, he remembers. Those books would make me all hot and bothered; itching with sexual need. And Cash was always ready and willing to help me work away the need. Afterhe fanned the flames first. My face warms as the memories assault me.

I clear my throat. “Not anymore.”
