Page 61 of The Wrong Guy

“Incoming!”

I have my gun up and am ready to start shooting.

“Put your guns down!” I yell. “You wanted me here; you got me here. Put the guns down, or I will kill all of you right here, and you won’t get what you want.”

Of course, they want something. If they didn’t want something, they wouldn’t have gone through all of trouble if they didn’t.

“Bilias! The Prodigal Son!”

I’m looking at the man who has the gun to Audrina’s head and instantly recognize him.

“Johnny.”

“I’m surprised you remembered me since everyone turned their backs on me when I went inside,” he greets. “Imagine my surprise when I started having Derek do work for me, and then he mysteriously dies. His wife is banging a low life like you, and now she’s going to have to die, too.”

“Johnny, we had nothing to do with you taking the fall for the guns. My father didn’t do shit,” I begin.

He aims his gun again at Audrina’s face. “Imagine my surprise when I realize she’s so dumb she doesn’t even know who her boyfriend is.”

Audrina is looking at me with begging eyes. Andreas stands to my left with his gun raised in case I need him. I know I’m going to need him in a time like this. It fucking sucks that everything is falling apart like this.

It sucks even more that Audrina is finding out about me and my connections like this.

“Baby, are you okay?” I ask.

She nods.

“Did they touch you?” Andreas asks while walking closer to the scene. He’s pissed because they have his twin sister circled with guns. I don’t blame him.

After finding out about the contracts over Derek’s head and that they came from my friend, I realized he wasn’t that big of a pussy.

She shakes her head.

“Since you didn’t tell her you were mobbed up, did you tell her about the price tags on her head?” Johnny asks with a crook of an eye.

“What?” Audrina whispers.

“I’ll talk to you with her out of the room!” I yell, trying to get Audrina out of here and in a safe area.

“No! I think you should let her know how she almost died because she knows too much,” Johnny gripes. “I also think you should tell her how you crawled back to your dad when you needed help like a little bitch.”

I’m charging at him with my fist raised. He lands a punch into my gut causing me to choke on air for a moment.

“You rat mother fucker! We should have killed her in the middle of the store. Or the times we walked past her at the hospital. You didn’t even know because you were too busy up your father’s ass,” he spits.

Andreas punches the man behind Audrina when the other men circling my girl come out of the woodwork. One of them is trying to choke me from behind, but I push him off just enough for him to fall against the ground. I’m focused on Johnny.

The last man who was off to the side realizes how he fucked by being here. He’s trying to run out the door, but Andreas shoots him before he can leave.

Now that we have the last two guys left, I decide to stop fucking playing tit-for-tat with Johnny and punch him hard in the head, resulting in him hitting the cement. His head bounces off the ground, and he looks at me with crazy eyes one last time.

“Just shoot me. Get it over with,” he mutters.

“Why did you take out hits on Audrina?” I ask him with my gun raised. “You’re going to die either way. You might as well tell me.”

“Money. If she got all of the money that Bancroft owed us, we would be fucked. I’m already fucked. He’s going to kill us.”

“Who?” I ask with my gun cocked and ready to shoot him.
