“I know I need these things, but I don’t know if it is necessary right now,” I tell him.
“Audrina,” Stavros interjects, “if Derek is stupid enough to attack you the morning of your mediation, think about what’s going to happen when he’s alone.”
“So, I have to change my whole life just in case he gets mad again?” I ask like a brat.
The truth is I’m mad. I’m angry that I didn’t see all of this happening from the beginning. I’m mad because even though I’m in this predicament, I still want to go back and kiss Stavros.
“We will begin working on getting everything switched over at your apartment. Your car will be delivered here,” Andreas again tells me.
My head is spinning. I’m so overwhelmed.
“I’ll make sure Audrina gets something to eat then get her situated with the car. You know where her apartment is,” Stavros throws out. “You get her security system up and running.”
“Do I have a say in this?” I ask petulantly.
“No. You don’t. If you don’t take this, you will be moving in with me,” Andreas states before leaving. “Also,” he adds, “do not talk to Derek or his attorney.”
“I won’t.”
Once my brother leaves the office, Stavros comes around the corner and is in my space. I feel warm from his presence, and I almost come out of my seat in invitation.
“What?” I ask.
Stavros looks at me and then looks at his desk. He leans over to hit a button and then there is a loud, mechanical sound locking the door. “Nothing you don’t want will happen.”
What if I don’t know what I want?
His eyes are hooded and his smile is slightly curved. “I promised your brother I wouldn’t touch you. I shouldn’t want you. I shouldn’t want to be with you in this way. It is unethical, but now that I have had a taste… I can’t stop thinking about it.”
My cheeks heat up and I start to breathe heavier than before. “I want you to kiss me again,” I whisper, trying not to sound desperate.
He leans against his desk and wags a finger for me to come to him. Once I’m in front of him, I take a step forward, and his hands are on me again. This time, our kiss isn’t as sweet and playful as before. This time, it is passionate.
I forgot about what happened moments ago and am enthralled in the passion of our kiss. Each time his lips leave mine or he nibbles at my bottom lip, I about pout from the loss.
“Oh, lovely, we’re going to have so much fun together,” he whispers against my lips in a dirty promise.
My lips curl upwards in a smile from his promise. “I hope so.”
“Let’s get your car situated, and then we’ll go.”
“Go where?” I ask stupidly.
His hands reach around my hips to grab the cheeks of my ass through the fabric of my dress. “We’re going to see how to make this work.”
I don’t have much time to ask what he means when there is a knock on the door. It is almost like magic when Stavros replaces the look of pleasure on his face with business.
“Wait here,” he informs me, leaving me leaning against his desk. “What?”
Russell’s voice filters into the office. “My client agrees to not move any money or make big purchases.”
“Good choice.”
“But,” the other attorney interjects, “do you really think it is a good idea to get involved with another client?”
The words ring in my ears. What does he mean? What other clients has Stavros been with? Is this just a game for him? Am I just a conquest?
I’m left to thinking about all the ways this is a bad idea when Stavros slams the door in his face and turns to look at me. He looks like a wolf. He looks like the big bad wolf I always swore to stay away from.
