Mac stands up from the couch, clenching his jaw, and staring at me. I give attitude right back, crossing my arms over my chest.
“Mr. White, Mr. Donaghue,” says a waitress in only a thong and heart pasties over her nipples, her breasts are perky as can be. Most likely implants. “Can I get you a drink? Your usuals perhaps?”
I grit my teeth, suddenly more annoyed. The guys ask for some scotch on the rocks, probably top shelf, because I don’t think this place serves anything you could ask for from the well.
“I’ll have a cosmo,” I call to her as she’s about to leave the private area without even acknowledging me. She doesn’t even glance back to tell me she heard me.
“Kitten,” Mac’s voice booms as the woman leaves us. “What are you doing here?”
My jaw drops. “What am I doing here? What the hell are you doing here?” I ask, looking at him and Colin. “While I’m sitting at home waiting for you to get there, you’re at a sex club? I thought you were different Mr. MacKenna. You’re just like all the other men in the world. I should have known better. And that woman ...” I say, pointing my finger in the direction she disappeared. “Is that what you want? Are you already bored of me?”
“Kitten,” Mac shouts, stopping my tirade. I wonder if they can hear us downstairs.
“What?” I shout back, on the verge of tears.
He lifts his hand and cocks a finger at me, motioning me to come to him. I obey, even though I scold myself the entire six feet over to him. None of the others have said a word. Ben won’t even look at me, but I guess he did give a warning that he wouldn’t stop Mac when I was being punished.
“On your knees, Kitten,” Mac says calmly.
My cheeks flame as I glance around at the two other men who are watching us with hooded eyes. None of them make a move to stop whatever wrath MacKenna has brewing under his calm exterior.
“Now,” Mac says again, and I drop down to my knees in an instant, bowing my head without even thinking.
I hear ice sloshing in glasses behind me, and I flinch, realizing the waitress just came back in the room. Mac places a hand on my hair, keeping me on my knees, not letting me look back at the waitress to start a cat fight over my men.
“Thank you, Dustee,” he says. “Please don’t disturb us for the rest of the evening.”
“Yes, Sir,” she says, and I try to get up again to put her in her place for calling my boyfriend the name he expects me to call him in the bedroom.
“Kitten, you’re being very disobedient tonight,” Mac mutters, sitting back against the couch.
I keep my head bent, but I can’t stop grinding my teeth. I’m embarrassed that I caved so quickly at Mac’s command, I’m pissed he did it right in front of a stranger, and I’m furious that he didn’t tell me he was spending his evening at the sex club with Colin.
“Well, excuse me for ruining your evening of sex and debauchery while I was at home being a good little girl, waiting for the three of you to come home.”
“Hey now, Teagan,” Alex says from behind me. “Don’t include me in that. I was working, so you could have my attention for the rest of the weekend.”
I glance over my shoulder and give him a soft smile. “You’re forgiven. At least you weren’t here being served drinks by some girl who is nearly naked drooling all over you.”
Mac leans forward in an instant, holding my chin in his hand. “Do not make assumptions, brat. She’s doing her job.”
“Go easy on her, Shane,” Alex says behind me. I hear him sit down on one of the leather couches behind me.
“Whose idea was it to bring Teagan to the club,” Mac asks, not taking his eyes off of me.
“It was her idea,” Ben says, tattling on me. “She was worried about you two, man.”
Mac stares into my eyes, loosening his grip on my chin. “Do you not trust us, Kitten?”
I glance at Colin, and he looks disappointed in me. Suddenly, I feel like I should have given them a chance to explain instead of coming in here ready to fight.
“I’m sorry,” I say to Colin, and look down at the floor. “I just got jealous. I didn’t want to be at home while you were having fun without us.”
“We were conducting business, Miss. Sullivan,” Mac says, leaning back into the couch. “The man you passed on your way in was thinking about buying the club off of me. I asked Colin to join me to get his opinion on the matter since he’s familiar with business transfers, and I wanted a second opinion before I stepped down as owner.”
“You’re selling this place?” I ask, almost hopeful.
Mac nods once. “Yes, because I didn’t want you to worry about this, about us coming over here to watch other women fuck.”
