Honestly, he can be a great guy when he tries, but on the inside, he’s nothing but hollow darkness wanting to plan an escape, a murder, or to steal my mother away from the world. Or that’s what he tells me when he’s having a bad day and decides to call me in the middle of one of his episodes.

I’ve seen images and CCTV footage ofTobiasMitchell in his element. Dangerous. Deadly. A man with a mission, and that mission was to do anything possible to have my mother to himself.

His kill count was announced to the entire world when his case was televised in every country.

He killed two officers and permanently disfigured four others when they tried to arrest him in a hotel room. Let’s say his possessive side kicked in, and he lost his shit thinking they were taking Mum. He escaped jail weeks later – and killed a lot of prison guards in the process.

With help from my bitch of a grandmother, he hid for weeks and stalked my mother – until he couldn’t watch her anymore. Then he kidnapped her and locked her in a dog crate in an abandoned animal shelter in the middle of the woods.

Yep, a dog crate. Her and her best friendGabriellawere padlocked into them.

The only way to make it stop was for my mum to agree to run away with my dad.

TobiasMitchell is pure fucking evil. I might love him, but him staying within that facility is the safest option for everyone.

It all started with him tripping her up by accident and thinking she was pretty.

The first thing I thought when I saw Stacey was that she was pretty. I could see myself hurting someone for her.

I have the DNA ofTobias. Therefore, I am capable of destroying Stacey.

A soft hand strokes my cheek. “Hey. You’re zoning out again.”

I snap out of it and look up at my beautiful girlfriend. “Sorry, I’m jet-lagged.”

“Is there something wrong?” she asks, her thumb swiping under my eye. “Did your dad say something while you were over?”

I turn my head and kiss her palm, perching on my elbows on the studio floor. “Nah, I promise I’m just tired.”

“Tell me again how your dad was, and why do you think your parents are sleeping together?”

I sigh. “It’s just a feeling I have.”

She fastens her leather harness at the shoulder, ensuring it’s tight enough. “Ewanlooks at your mum like she’s his entire world.”

“Because she is. I can’t say she looks at him the same way though. I know she loves him, but my dad definitely has her in his hold still. I think the only way to free her is if he died.”

Stacey gasps and tries to slap my arm. “Don’t say that!”

“It’s inevitable.” I shrug. “He’s an old man.”

She glares at me. “No he isn’t. He’s in his forties. And fifty per cent of the world’s population would fuck your dad.”

I tilt my head, confused and disturbed. “What has fucking him got to do with his age?” I lean up and grab her ass, tugging her down on me, so she’s straddling my lap in her barely visible outfit, those leather straps everywhere. “Are you part of that statistic?”

She bites her lip. “Maybe. It’s the villains that are the sexiest after all. Who wouldn’t want a bad boy?”

“He’s a psychopath who murdered people.”

Her cheeks turn a bright shade of red as she smiles. “Even better.”

I groan and attempt not to let the jealousy win. “You’re trying to annoy me.”

I can hear the teasing note in her tone. “He’sTobiasMitchell.”

She stands in her ridiculously high heels and hits my hand away when I try to pull her to me again, continuing to set up for her routine. My eye twitches, but then she adds, “Besides, I prefer his son.”

I smirk and decide she’ll be mine forever. “Good girl.”
