“Is something wrong Ray?”

“To be honest I don’t know.”

“Does this have something to do with Toby?” He tenses up for a second, that's a yes.

“He’s pissing me off, but today he’s being civil at the moment I’m guessing that’s because it’s family day. I just don’t know what to do.”

“Just give him some time to come around.”

“Do you really think he would?”

“Eventually he just needs to see that you are not a threat to him or the family.” Ray sighs heavily.

“I feel like he’s never going to see that, never.” I understand where he’s coming from Toby’s been a complete asshole towards Ray and it’s very frustrating.

“Show him the real you Ray you are not just a cop or detective, show him who you are outside of the station.”

“How do I do that?”

“Just be yourself Ray that’s all you have to do. How can he not like you once he sees who you really are.” A small smile appears on his face.

“He’s not always like this you know. Once he gets over the whole cop thing you two will get along well. You guys just need time to get to know each other.”

“How long do you think that will take, Daniel?”

“To be honest I have no clue, but it will happen, it’s just going to take some time.”

“How do you know that?”

“Because I know you both very well it’s going to be impossible for him to hate you once he sees you and not a cop.”

“I hope you are right about this.”

“Come on, let's play with the kids.” We both got up and went into the water Nikki climbs on me.

“Uncle Daniel on the way home can we stop at the store?”

“Sure we can, what do you want from the store?” I ask.

“I’m all out of lollipops.” She says with a frown on her face. That’s not good this girl with no lollipops is a nightmare she becomes a little devil when she has no lollipops.

“I’ll buy you some when we are on our way home.”

“Thank you.” She kisses my check. I toss her in the air and she giggles.

“Throw me in the water.” She says with a big smile. I toss her up and into the water. She comes up and giggles.

“Throw me to Uncle Daniel.” Jordan says as he swims towards me. I pick him up and toss him in the water. Being with my family is my favorite thing to do and I’m hoping that we can add another member soon. I always wanted a family with Kate, now it’s finally coming together after all these years and I couldn’t be happier.

Chapter Eight

Kate

As Daniel is pacing the room I’m twirling my hair nervously waiting for the five minutes to be up. The alarm goes off and I Daniel stops in his tracks.

“I can’t look, you look.” Daniel and I have been trying to make a baby for three months now and I’m so damn nervous I want it to be positive. He grabs the stick and looks down I look away. He places his hands on my face and lifted my face I look into his eyes and I see happiness.

“We are having a baby.” He says with a bright smile and I burst into tears. Daniel kisses me and I wrap my arms around his neck.
