“I heard.” I wrap my arms around her soft curves and stare into her eyes. “What do you need to tell me?”
“You heard that, huh?” My wife bites her juicy bottom lip and fidgets. “I want you to promise to hear me out.” Good God. I can already see where this is going.
“I always hear you out,” I remind her. Apprehension cuts through me as I wonder what has my wife so worked up.
“Well, our family is growing.” My knees nearly buckle as her meaning cuts through me. Another kid? My wife rips the rug right out from beneath my feet. “Remember when you told me to get Happy fixed?” I blink several times as my blown mind attempts to catch up with this conversation. “Umm.” Hadley shrugs. “Oops, my bad.”
“Oops?” I can’t even keep up with this crazy conversation.
“Happy is going to have puppies.” My wife shrugs, giving me her innocent smile. Part of me is disappointed we aren’t having another child while another part is pissed as hell at this turn of events.
“What?” I roar. “How the fuck did the dog get knocked up?” We only have two goddamn dogs, and they’re both females. Luv Bug is going to have a fit when she realizes her life is about to be disrupted again. This time by fucking puppies.
“Remember when I took Happy over to Giant and Bella’s to meet their new addition?” I think back and count the days since Hadley and Kyra went over to meet the dog our friends adopted. “Nico knocked up Happy?” I rub my hand down the back of my neck, wondering when my life took this crazy turn. Oh yeah, the night I met my curvy little soulmate. She’s brought sunshine and excitement combined with a little bit of craziness into my life. “How in the hell did that happen?” I can’t believe this shit. Not long ago, I was a lonely CEO living for my work and my MC. Then my beautiful little kitten dropped into my life and turned everything upside down. Now, I’m a husband, father, and expectant dog owner. Honestly, I wouldn’t change anything for the world. Even all the craziness my wife finds to drop into my lap.
“Yep.” Hadley snorts, and I’m tempted to kiss the smirk off of my wife’s beautiful face. “We caught Nico sniffing around Happy, but I didn’t think they had time to do anything,” Hadley explains. “Then Happy started moping around, so I got worried and took her to Dr. Miller.” My wife dances from foot to foot as her voice turns a little squeaky—a sure sign she’s nervous. “And he did an ultrasound.” She throws her hands up in the air. “Surprise! We’re having four little puppies.”
Holy shit. I can’t even. “The dog had a goddamn ultrasound?” What’s next? Prenatal classes and yoga for the spoiled Rottweiler?
“And Dr. Miller gave her vitamins and a special diet,” Hadley tells me as I see dollar signs flash before my eyes.
“Do Giant and Bella know their mutt knocked up our sweet dog?” No use in getting upset. The puppy train already left the station, and I can see how happy my wife is. There’s no way I’m letting her keep all four puppies, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
“Not yet.” Hadley gives me a bright smile. “I wanted to tell you first.” I pull her curvy body against mine and lean down to run my nose through her sweet-smelling hair. Her familiar scent surrounds me, turning my cock even harder, but I have something to take care of first. Then I plan to spend the rest of the night loving my gorgeous wife.
“Let me handle it.” At least I have an excuse to fuck with my MC brother a little bit. Giant fought his wife tooth and nail, attempting to put a halt to her adopting the goofy fucking mutt, but he lost. And lost bad. Bella pouted a little, and the big lug folded like a cheap suit.
Oh, this is going to be so much fun.
I sit at the desk in my home office and kick my foot up on the desk, waiting for Jude to answer. “I need a favor.”
“What do you need me to do?” He sighs, and I smile to myself, ready to shock the hell out of the strait-laced lawyer.
“I need support papers and a visitation agreement drawn up,” I tell him and sit back, waiting for the questions.
“Now, I know you aren’t cheating on Hadley.” He stumbles over his words. Just the reaction I was looking for. “And that girl thinks the sun rises and sets in you. Plus, you’d kill any fucker who dared touch her, so I know she hasn’t been stepping out.” He’s got that right. “Now, stop fucking around and tell me what the hell is going on.” He’s no fun.
“Giant’s goddamn mutt knocked up Happy,” I explain, anticipating the look on Giant’s face when I have him served with legal documents. “I want you to take care of the legalities.”
“Motherfucker, I’m surrounded by certifiable nuts,” Jude grumbles, then jumps into lawyer mode. “What do you want to request in support?”
“I’m going to be reasonable.” I barely resist laughing at the crazy situation. “But I want him to pay.” If I have to deal with this crazy situation, I’m going to take Giant down with me.
The next morning, I’m sitting at the breakfast bar drinking my coffee when the front door blasts open. My massive motherfucking MC brother comes storming into my kitchen. “What the fuck is this?” He waves a document at me, and I realize Jude really worked fast on this one.
“You better watch your language.” I take a sip of my coffee, shaking my head. “Hadley will have your ass if one of the kids picks up your fucking bad habits.”
“Fuck off.” Giant walks over to the coffeemaker and pours himself a cup of coffee. “I ran into Hadley on my way in. She told me you’re home alone and to play nice.” My MC brother sits on the barstool next to me. “Now, explain this shit to me.”
“I would’ve thought it’s self-explanatory.” I point at the legal document. “Your mutt knocked up my poor dog. Now, you have to pay. Dog support, vet fees, and emotional support for Luv Bug.”
“How do you know it was Nico?” Giant asks.
“Process of elimination. And because Happy hasn’t been around any other male dogs,” I inform him.
“I never thought I’d ever be dealing with dog paternity issues.” Giant shakes his head sadly and holds up his coffee cup to me. “Here’s to the crazy life.” I’m not surprised he caved so easily. The fucker knows I’ll never let him live this shit down.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” I tell him and watch my friend shake his head in agreement.
