Something burst inside me, and I pursed my lips, nodding. I did feel it. I’d been miserable without him from the moment I’d decided to leave the palace.
“You are willing to sacrifice your own safety, your own life and well-being for the kingdom. That tells me everything that I need to know about you,” he went on, brushing his lips against mine.
Tingles shot through my body, and the lights flickered in the room, reacting to my emotions. He chuckled, drawing back, but there was deep concern etched in his eyes.
“Please, don’t go,” he begged, and my resolve dissolved with his pleadings—not that there was much to break down.
“What about?—?”
He silenced my almost question with a kiss, his hands twining into the thick of my loose tresses.
“Shh,” he rasped, his breath hot against my face. “Just stay. I can handle everything else.”
Chapter 10
Elix
Gently, Jace’s hand pulled my hair back, causing my lips to fully part. His tongue snaked lightly between the opening, spiraling shivers through my entire system. The lights flickered again.
“How are you doing that?” he breathed, mouth inching toward my ear.
The warmth of his breath sent another wave of goosebumps across my neck and back, standing up the hairs on end.
“I don’t know,” I mumbled, but he silenced me, his kisses growing more urgent, hotter. The buttons of my blouse came undone under his fingers as my hands curled around his neck, holding his quickening pulse closer to me. I relished the feeling of him, realizing just how much I’d missed him.
A dull buzz reverberated around us, and I felt the ripple of current charging through me toward Jace… or was it the other way around? I couldn’t tell, our skin melding together, fusing us into one.
His mouth made its way along the contours of my throat, and every so often, Jace would pause to take a deep breath like he was inhaling me. My toes curled, and my balance faltered as he danced me backward, wetness forming between my legs.
A familiar headiness overtook me, but it was different this time, raising me as my silk blouse slipped off, revealing my swollen breasts, Jace’s eager fingers electrifying me in a way I’d never experienced before.
Fingertips found their way under the lace of my bra, trailing along the taut skin of my rigid nipples as his heated mouth followed and a moan escaped me happily.
Without warning, I was in his arms, and he scooped me up like I weighed no more than a feather to lay me across the bed, pushing my suitcase onto the floor. The clothes spilled over the floor, but I didn’t care about that. It seemed obvious that he wasn’t letting me go anywhere now.
My pants fell away, my legs locking around his shoulders, and before I knew what was happening, Jace was face deep inside me.
“Oh, gods!” I cried out, his tongue lapping at my dampness, ass cupped in his firm hands to draw me fully against his face. My hands twined through his dark mane, hips arched.
We fell into a rhythm, the lights joining our beat, fluttering and flashing with every twitch and tremble of my body until I was fully climaxing, my heart racing.
Carefully, he unhooked himself and slid over my quivering breasts, stopping to taste and lick at the crevices along the way before stopping at my lips. My hands reached down to free him of his belt and zipper, shaking as his mouth crushed to mine, my scent all over him. My eyes opened as he fell back to let himself out of the constraints of his pants, his pulse visibly pulsating through his neck.
“Take me, Jace,” I whispered, my heart skipping in a way I’d never experienced. I was light-headed, and the wavering of the lights made me dizzy, but when his eyes bored into mine, I understood what this was.
His pupils dilated with mine, his thickness plunging into me, and the chandelier on the main floor exploded as I disappeared in my own mind.
I was there and gone, swirling high above Goldhaven, in the clouds, my chest on fire, my body and soul molten lava and pouring into Jace as he, in turn, poured into me.
We became one, his hard, even thrusts filling me, drawing me back into the suite, my nails digging into the creamy flesh of his shoulders, our souls twining and fusing as our bond connected.
“You’re mine, Elix,” he rasped.
“And you’re mine,” I mewled, his sheer size stealing my breath, his movements growing deeper and more urgent, bringing me to an indescribable height.
Hot streams created a river between us as another bulb flashed and broke from somewhere in the unit, but we were too lost in one another’s eyes.
In unison, we were spent, writhing, gasping, and releasing. Our love for one another forged for the ages with our mate bond solidified as it was meant to be. My chest pulled toward him and his heartbeat toward mine, as if reaching out to meld with mine.
