I do as she asks and phone the police station, and before I am off the phone with the constable, Eagle and her dad come running up.

“Temple now, this ends,” Lucas states and jumps on his bike.

“I want in, and I don’t give a fuck what you say. She just attacked my family on my property. Either I am in or the police get involved.” Mr. Mackenzie demands and all I can do is nod.

He jumps up and tells his wife to make sure his girls and grandbabies are safe, then jumps into his van and starts it.

I walk over to Fire and give her a kiss. Whispering for her to stay safe and to keep her family safe. I walk over to my bike and jump on. I hope that this whole thing ends because I can’t wait to have her between us.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Amelia

“Okay Rosey. I am going to need to stabilize your leg. I am hoping the ambulance shows up quicker and we can get you to the hospital. You, more than likely, will have surgery to repair the damage on your leg. Are you hurt anywhere else?” I ask my sister.

“Just my freaking leg, I was able to jump somewhat out of the way before crazy bitch in a car hit me,” she grumbles and winces in pain.

The ambulance pulls up twenty minutes after the initial call. As the paramedics jump out, I stand and go to them.

“Patient's name is Rosey Mackenzie. She was hit by a fast-moving vehicle. Although she was able to get most of her body out of the way, her left leg got hit. I have stabilized the leg with stuff I can find. My name is Amelia Mackenzie. I am a firefighter with the fire department in town,” I state, and watch as recognition comes to their faces.

“You’re the fire…” they start but don’t finish before I growl and snap, “Yes, I am that one, but right now professionally you need to be dealing with the patient on the ground in pain. You want details you can talk to the police officer that is involved.”

I stand and watch as the paramedics go to Rosey and hook her up to the machines that are mandatory for transport. I look at my mom and niece and nephew before walking over to them.

“Mom, go ask if you can ride with her. I’ll bring the kids right behind you, okay?” I ask okay so I basically told my mom, she stares at me for a bit before nodding and walking towards where Rosey is now on the gurney.

“Okay, my minions of candy land, we are going to go inside and get cleaned up. Then we are going to go to the hospital and eat all the gross Jell-O on your mom, okay?” I smile and try to ease the pain that I see in their eyes.

“Guys, your mom is going to be okay. When she gets to the hospital, the doctors will set her leg and but a cast on it. Eventually we can all doodle on her leg and make mini tattoos on the cast,” I whisper and make it sound like it’s going to be the coolest thing ever.

They both start to giggle, and you can picture their little minds going over everything that they want to draw on their mom that starts to ease the tension in my shoulders. With them inside washing, I watch as the ambulance pulls away and turn to go into the house.

SCREEECHH

I spin around, making sure the door is closed behind me so that the kids don’t see anything.

“You dumb bitch, do you like the little presents I have given you?” some skinny chick says from inside a neon pink Mini Cooper.

“Oh yeah, you’re like a dog with a fucking bone,” I yell back. I have no clue who she is, just that she must be off her meds.

“That stupid woman shouldn’t have jumped, and you should have focused more on the task at hand. Stay away from Drills and Eagles, they won’t be mine for long, then again, they won’t be breathing clean air for long either,” she screeches and cackles.

“What the fuck are you talking about? Are you sure you’ve not been away from your cauldron too long? That cackle was weak.” I crack up at the joke and turn around, heading for the inside of the house. I need to call Eagles and Drills and let them know what she just said.

“Mark my words Amelia Mackenzie, I will have everything you love ripped to shreds, for the mire fact that I want those two douchebags to suffer like I have.” She states loudly and speeds out of the driveway.

What the fuck is she talking about? They made her suffer how, by not have sharing her more. That woman looks like she has been road hard and put away loose.

I pick up my phone and dial Drills.

“Yo!” is how he answers the phone, and it makes me giggle.

“Nice way to answer your phone there Steven.” I chuckled.

He starts to laugh and then asks, “What’s up, babe?”

“Okay, so I just had some skinny twigs pull up in a bright pink Mini.” I start.
