“Too soon, asshole. Please take this seriously.” Nova rubs his head but nods at his brother’s words.

“Let’s roll.” I climb in and wait for Mallory to take a seat before tapping her shoulder.

“Move your hair.” He takes the neatly braided piece and moves it to her opposite shoulder as I put the nausea patch behind her ear.

“Put this one under your tongue. You should be good for a few hours.” She smiles at me, but it doesn’t reach her sad eyes.

I guess I have plenty of time to find out what’s wrong now.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

DIEGO

I gritmy teeth as I watch a Sheriff deliver papers, and when Hannah announces that the fucking bastard is suing her for his own crimes, I see red.

I punch the tree I’m hiding behind loud enough that I worry the threesome with her heard the bark snap.

“Let’s go. Nola is waiting.” The big ass man on the Harley yells at the truck as he pulls off.

“New Orleans?” I shake my head, waiting for them to be out of sight.

I pull out my phone and call the Hospital.

“Ceila, hi. I’m going to need to push back our start date. I’m lacking an employee.” She sighs on the other end.

“I’m sorry to hear that. I can arrange for the temp service for an additional two weeks. Will that be enough?” I look at the sky and wish I knew.

“It’ll have to be.” I hang up and jog over to where I hide my Ducati.

No way am I riding her all the way to New Orleans. So I drive home, change, and pack in record time. I mount my bike on my own truck and get on the road.

I’ll be about an hour behind them, which is good. The tracker I put on her phone last night will lead me right to her. I call Andres next to let him know I’ll be gone a few days.

“Yo,” I chuckle at his tone and the sounds of grunts in the background.

“Gym or Club?” His nonanswer is telling.

“I’m heading out of town.” That seems to get his attention.

“Hang on,” His shuffling to get into the back hallway of the fight club is further proof that I’m right.

“Where?” I smile.

“Worried about me, primo?” He snorts.

“Since your ass was born. Trouble follows you like a fly on shit.” I grin and nod.

“My luck has been pretty good lately.” I point out.

“Until it runs out, and it always does.” I sigh cause he’s right, as always.

“New Orleans. I’m chasing my prize.” He curses.

“She running?” I roll my eyes.

“Not from me. But something spooked her, and I’m going to fucking find out what and end them. I’m done waiting.” My grip on the steering wheel grows painful, and when I see my white knuckles, I relax them as much as I can at the moment.

“I have a few contacts in that area should you need assistance, but I’d rather not call in those markers, so be careful.” I blow out my breath.
