“Thanks, Captain Obvious. How about before that?” She pulls my pen light from the pocket on my chest and checks my pupil response.
“Work?” It’s an educated guess from my attire.
“Ok, big boy. Let’s get you up. Where are your keys?” Fuck, did I drive my car or bike today?
I try in vain to remember, and she loses patience, patting me down and tapping my dick in the process.
“Whoops. Sorry,” She winks at me, and the fucker starts to tent my scrubs.
“Oh, yeah, you look sorry. What the hell are you doing?” She ignores me and blinks her eyes away from my groin to address the guy standing next to her.
“Blaze, he’s got a concussion. I’m going to take him home.” Hannah is going home with me?
Something is telling me that it’s a bad idea, but I can’t think of why. All I’ve wanted for the last few years is to get her back in my bed where she fucking belongs.
“Alright, be careful. Nice to meet you.” I wave at him as Hannah drags me over to my car.
“Ok, let’s get you home and showered. You smell like road kill.” How can she make me smile like an idiot after insulting me?
“Home,” I nod and then grab my head to stop the car from spinning.
“Address Diego,” those alarm bells go off in my head again.
Or is that my ears ringing?
CHAPTER NINE
SHOCK
“No,no. I can’t go into the house like this.” Diego shifts his weight, pushing me around the side of his house into his backyard.
Getting the address out of him was like pulling teeth.
If I didn’t know better, I’d think he didn’t want me to know, but from the way he’s acting now, maybe I don’t know this man as much as I thought.
What are you hiding, Doctor?
His house looks very industrial on the outside. A basic metal square structure painted a dark Navy blue with white and green accents. It’s got a four-car attached garage that makes me wonder if he has some sort of car hobby.
“Here,” he slaps at a door attached to his privacy fence, and I prop him up against the side of the house, which I now realize is made of shipping containers.
I open it wide and turn to help him when he pushes past me quickly, making me stumble. I catch myself before face-planting in his bushes and frown.
I hear water and look around for a pool. What I see is a very naked Diego under an outdoor shower. My mouth drops open as his pants fall to his feet. I have so many questions.
How did he get naked so fast?
When did he get all that ink?
“You’ve been hiding all that under a lab coat and scrubs?” I stare at his ass while the water cascades down his dark brown skin.
“Wait until I turn around.” Wait, what?
Dear God, yes, turn around!
“Are you flirting with me?” His chuckle doesn’t sound amused at all.
“Madre Santo, yes Hannah. That was flirting.” He glances over his shoulder at me, sitting in his grass.
