Simone leaned in and kissed her. Jade wrapped her arms around Simone’s neck, deepening the kiss, drawing her closer. Desire stirred inside her as Jade’s body melted against hers, pliant, soft, and eager.
She murmured into Simone’s lips, drawing back slightly. “I’ve been thinking, and I…” Jade glanced away before meeting her eyes again. “I’m ready. You know, to try what we talked about.”
Simone studied her face. “Are you sure?”
Jade nodded. Ever since they got back together, they’d spent every spare moment exploring their desires, discovering new depths of intimacy, even pushing their limits. They’d come to trust each other enough now to take those steps.
“I think you’re ready too,” Simone said. “You’re certain this is what you want?”
“I am,” Jade replied. “I want to do this. I was thinking we could do it tonight.”
“You have no idea how tempting that is. But are you forgetting I have plans tonight? I’m meeting with the others at Club Velvet.”
“Do you really have to go?” Jade traced a finger down Simone’s arm, peering up at her from under her eyelashes. “Maybe I can convince you to stay?”
Simone gave her a firm look. “Try it, and I’ll have you kneel at the foot of the bed naked the entire time I’m gone.”
Jade bit her lip, her eyes betraying the thoughts in her mind.
“Oh?” Simone raised an eyebrow. “Don’t tell me the idea is turning you on?”
The flush rising up Jade’s face was the only confirmation she needed. After all this time, Simone was still discovering new buttons to push to make her quiver and blush. It never ceased to delight her. And it affirmed what she already knew—that she and Jade were made for each other. Simone wanted to be with her for the rest of her days.
Once upon a time, the thought alone would have been enough to make her put up her guard. She’d never had any faith in relationships, let alone marriage. But with Jade? She wanted that forever. And perhaps, one day, they would take that step.
In the meantime, there was another, smaller step they needed to take in their relationship.
“You know what?” Simone said. “You should come with me tonight.”
Jade blinked. “You mean, to Club Velvet?”
“Yes. I want to show you off. Not only to the world, but to the people most important to me.” After all, the friends Simone owned Club Velvet with were the closest thing she had to family.
She leaned in, sliding her hand up Jade’s thigh as she spoke into her ear.
“And afterward,” she said, “if you’re good, we can have a little fun, just the two of us. What do you say?”
A smile spread on Jade’s lips. “I would love that.”
Simone placed her hand on the small of Jade’s back. “Everyone, I’d like you to meet my girlfriend, Jade.”
She looked around the VIP lounge, where the other owners were gathered. All three women stared back at her, speechless.
Finally, Valerie gave Jade a warm smile. “I’m Valerie. Or Madame V, depending on the time of day. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Her words opened the floodgates. Elle stood up and grabbed Jade’s hands, dragging her over to the lounges where the others sat.
“We’ve been waiting so long to meet you,” she said. “I’m Elle, by the way. This is Olivia.”
“Olivia De Leon.” She held out her hand for Jade to shake. “So you’re the woman who has Simone so infatuated.”
“Tell me about it,” Elle said. “Simone has been crazy about you since the day you met. She’s not the type to shout it from the rooftops, but it was obvious to me.”
“Why don’t you take a seat?” Valerie gestured to the seat next to her, then nodded at the table before them. It held two bottles of champagne on ice and half a dozen champagne flutes. “When Simone told us she was bringing you, we ordered some champagne to mark the occasion. Would you like a glass?”
Jade sat down next to her. “Sure.”
Valerie popped the cork and poured five glasses, handing one to Jade. “This should help you survive Elle’s interrogation.”
