“What do you do for a living?”

Alex smiled smugly and asked a question instead of answering mine.

“What do you think I do?”

I looked at him, trying to imagine where he made his money.

“You’re a high-class male hooker?” I cracked up, and Alex laughed too.

“I own the plane we’re flying on.”

“Holy crap, you own a plane?” I was shocked, but it made sense when I thought back to everyone knowing him by name at the airport.

“Not just a plane, Antonia. Many planes, fleets as well as resorts.”

“So, you’re filthy rich?”

“I am, but like you, I am also an orphan, and being rich came with a big price tag when my parents were killed in an accident.”

We were nothing alike. Orphan status or not, he was a prince, the airline king or something, and I was a little nothing. “We are nothing alike.”

Alex closed the door after hanging the do not disturb sign from the handle. He sat down and pulled me onto his lap in one fluid motion.

“We are more alike than you realize. In time you will see more than you see now and will know that we are both carved from our circumstances.”

That I understood and leaned into him and claimed our first kiss. When he pulled back, it was his wiring that looked scrambled for a change, and I smiled.

“Now you know how I feel.” I giggled.

Alex stood and dropped me on the bed as he took the do not disturb off the door.

“I’ll show you just how much I want you after dinner. We need to eat for what I plan on doing with you next.”

My lady parts squeezed in anticipation ofnext.

I was about to say more when there was a knock on the door. The smells of the delicious cuisine artfully displayed on a silver dining tray reminded me just how hungry I was. As soon as our server left, I dug in while Alex poured the wine.

“How is it?”

“The best I’ve ever had.”

Alex snorted in amusement and handed me a wine glass. “Cheers,” he said.

“To what?”

“To the best you’ve ever had.”

I felt the tell-tale signs of my excitement and wondered if it was as obvious to him as it felt to me? “Yes, Daddy, to the best I’ve ever had… so far,” I said saucily.

Alex shook his head in amusement and sighed in mock exasperation. “I’m so glad I packed that paddle.”

I choked on my wine.

Chapter 6

Alexander

Antonia sleptwhile I worked from my phone. My private eye in Detroit was digging into Antonia’s whereabouts these past few years. He’d also been tasked with ascertaining exactly who was the cause for her tears. When I found them, I would rip them apart.
