Brylee’s heart took off at a gallop. Did that mean he’d let her stay with him, even if it meant watching him waste away?
“I realized as I woke up that maybe it’s selfish of me, but I feel the same. I can’t stand to be away from you either. You’re all I need. All I want. You’re mine, Brylee, but more importantly, I’m yours.”
Brylee let out a cry of happiness and bent down. She wanted to kiss him fiercely, but she paused. “Will Mary allow kissing?”
He smiled; his mouth close to hers. He smelled fresh, like he’d just brushed his teeth.
“As long as I don’t sit up or injure anything. It’s going to be difficult. I want to kiss you very, very thoroughly, but I might have to settle for just savoring that cinna-mint gloss and some soft kisses.”
She grinned, bent low, and gave him those soft kisses. Many, many soft kisses. She wanted more thorough kissing too, but she’d wait.
“Cash,” she whispered against his mouth. “The beautiful words you just spoke. You aren’t going to push me away? You’ll let me stay with you … no matter what?”
He used the hand framing her face to nudge her back a few inches. They stared into each other’s eyes. “I still hate the thought of you seeing me weak.” He smiled slightly. “But I’m weak right now and you’re all I want to see.”
Tears pricked at her eyes. He loved her and wanted her with him.
“I also hate the thought of you wasting your life staying by my side.”
“It’s not a waste,” she said fiercely. “We can still both do a lot of good with our charities, but the good Lord has broughtus together. That first night praying in the tent, I was granted the blessing of knowing something was wrong, so I tried to have faith and not push you too hard.”
“Your faith is beautiful,” he told her. “Just like you.”
“It was a struggle. All I wanted was to be with you.” She took a breath. “It will still be a struggle to keep having faith as we battle cancer and work hard to help others, but there’s no reason we can’t have happiness and love. I’m going to pray and fight for a miracle for you, Cash. If it doesn’t happen, I’ll savor every moment we have. Then you’ll just have to wait for me in heaven for a bit. Us against the world … with God on our team.”
Cash’s dark eyes looked suspiciously bright, and tears spilled out of her own eyes. He gently wiped one away with his thumb.
“You are my miracle, Brylee Auburn, and I’ll never stop praising Heavenly Father for you and your love. You are the only miracle I’ll ever need. I love you.”
Then Cash pulled her down and kissed her. He kissed her so thoroughly that Mary rushed in to pull them apart and scold them.
Neither of them could stop smiling despite the cussing.
Cash would recover from his gunshot wounds. They’d have time together and maybe more miracles were in store for them.
Brylee loved that she was his miracle, and she knew he was hers as well. He was all she’d ever need. Brylee and Cash against cancer and heaven helping them through.
It was enough.
Captain Cash Trapper was more than enough.
Brylee would savor each moment with him.
Thank you for reading Cash and Brylee’s story. I am having the absolute best time writing this intense and romantic adventure series. Read on for the first two unedited chapters of Book #2 Impossible Escape.
These books were inspired by my Survive the Romance series. Read on for an excerpt of Book #1 Romancing the Treasure.

Impossible Escape - Two Chapters
Chapter One
Rose Lillywhite eased down the steps of the private jet and glanced around at runways and the large white terminal building of the Cancun airport. The air was warm, sultry even, a huge difference from the dry cold of Montana in early March. She already missed her family, the open space and beauty of the ranch, and especially all of the children.
She was here to earn a million dollars to keep Safe Haven Ranch from going under. Her family ranch had done well on its own for generations, but now supporting almost forty extra people, even if their guests all attempted to work and help out, had taken its strain. Her parents and sisters never complained and kept supporting her dream, but it wasn’t easy on any of them.
