“How about the tools you need?”

“Already sent for them they will be arriving tomorrow morning. I hope the party will start in the evening, yes?”

Ella rested on the bed and nodded, “Yeah, I think that’s enough time to receive it.”

“I hope so.” I caught the pillow, covered my face with it, and sighed.

CHAPTER SIX

MASONBLACKWOOD

I stretched out my hand as the three fashion designers from Europe who were heavily recommended by Oliver, my lawyer, adjusted my designer suits.

They worked in perfect synchronization, and it made me happy. The tallest among them was managing my collar and tie.

Dave, the witty one among them, was managing the sleeves while Jenny took control of the shoes, making sure it was perfectly laced.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror and was glad about what I saw. The white suit was only two in the world, this and another owned by a Saudi Prince.

It had the symbol of a crown designed with gold on its collar and the same with its tie.

The edge of the sleeve had the design, too, but it was designed in black.

The texture felt so smooth you could feel its softness just by looking at it. The pants and the shoes were black and as excellent as the suit jacket.

Everything I had on was crossing the five-million-dollar mark, but I didn’t care.

This was a business meeting of all the heads in our various establishments and a few world leaders, and for that, I needed to be perfect to draw the crowd toward me, to show them who the boss was. To let them know I am still very much around and in control.

“Done, sir.” The tall one said as he stepped back to take a look while the rest of the two stepped back too.

Smirking, I stepped closer to the mirror and looked at my reflection. It was impeccable, as expected. I checked my hair, and it was nicely cut and trimmed for this occasion.

“May I have my ring, please?” I muttered, raising my hand, and a ring was placed on my palm a second later, “Thank you.” I inserted the ring into my smallest finger. “The watch, please,” I muttered, raising my palm again, and a watch was placed on it.

I nodded in acknowledgment and began to wear the diamond-laced watch on my left wrist. “How do I look?”

“Perfect, sir.” They chorused.

“Thank you, everyone. Please give me some privacy.”

They turned and walked away from the room, leaving me alone while I continued to study my reflection.

“This is your day, Mason. Grab the hell out of it,” I muttered, adjusting my tie slightly, walking toward the table on my right, opening the first drawer, and bringing out a custom-made spring cologne.

I sprayed it on my wrists and neck before I closed it and kept it back in the drawer. I looked beside the cologne, found my little gold-plaited pocketknife, took it out, and began to press its button, watching it move in and out perfectly.

I placed the knife back in, closed the drawer, and took my phone to the table before moving back to the mirror.

I took a last look at my reflection, smiled, and headed toward the door to do what I knew best: being the Boss.

*********

I paused as I took a deep breath before I stepped into the hall, ready to walk down the stairs and greet the guests. The room was packed full as expected, filled with men and women who helped me shape society, and tonight, they would observe their allegiance to me.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in welcoming Mason Blackwood, the Chairman, to the party.” The announcer said through the mic, and everybody present turned toward the stairs where I was and began to clap while raising their glasses in respect.

This was what I lived for. The respect. I took a deep breath and gently walked down the stairs while the clap continued. Slowly, I raised my hand and waved at them as the clap rescinded. I reached the bottom of the stairs and began to greet them.
