Page 87 of Thor & Dragon

Not being able to take it anymore, I patted Levi’s thigh. “How about you sit with Thor, Spitfire? I’ll be back in a bit.”

She looks down at me and frowns before she nods. Pulling her down to me, I meant to keep the kiss short, but when her fingers run through my hair, fuck did I want to get lost in her. Reluctantly, I pulled back, but she followed me, tucking her head into the crook of my neck.

“She did something back behind food tables and it looked like she put something on a tree directly across from that spot.”

I freeze, and it takes everything in me to not just grab the bitch and demand answers. She pulls back and gives me a quick peck. She slides off my lap and sits in Thor’s. I turn toward Smoke, who is frowning as his gaze bounces between Levi and me. I gesture for him to follow me and we both stand. Walking over to the coolers, I grab us each a new beer and then led him over toward a cluster of trees that were sort of across from the food table. As we walk, he steps closer.

“What’s going on, Dragon? I saw that look when she whispered something to you,” he asks quietly.

“Remember my ex, Nicole?”

He grimaces and nods slightly.

“Levi saw her putting something on the trees somewhere over here and also doing something behind the food tables.”

“Fuck. Can’t we catch a fucking break?”

“Fuck, I hear that,” I growl. I want to catch these fuckers so Levi won’t have to keep looking over her shoulder, worried that Fang or Sean will get her. Seeing Ethan nearby, he frowns and heads our way.

Once we get over to the trees, I carefully glance around but didn’t see anything.

“Hey Dragon, got a question for you.”

“What’s up?”

“It’s about the competition coming up. I volunteered to help the others set it up. We were trying to figure out where you guys would want to put it.”

Why would he ask me instead of Levi? She’d know how much space they’d need.

“One of the spots is to put a large backing and then the targets right up against that long section of the clubhouse wall. We’d make sure the windows are covered.”

I follow where he’s pointing, but I don’t see anything other than the double windows, though I think he’s pointing to the left set of windows.

“Or we would go off to the side of the clubhouse,” he pauses as he points off to the right, but he isn’t pointing beyond the clubhouse. Shifting slightly, I think he’s pointing to where we have the trash and recycling bins on the corner. What the hell?

“Then the last spot would be if we went back here, but we’d need to mow to make it work,” he pauses as he takes a handful of steps to my right, and points out to the field and then back to the tree line before he gives me a pointed look. Stepping a little to his right, I follow where he had pointed first and then to the trees.

That’s when I see it.

A camera planted in a knot of one of the trees. Glancing back at the other two locations, there are probably other cameras there, too.

Fuck, we really need to get a step ahead of these assholes.

Keeping up the charade, I rub my chin as I look between all three spots. “Those could work. Did you talk to anyone else for their input?”

“Yes, sir. Alexei, Drae, Travis, and I were trying to figure out possible spots to get things started. Colt wanted to meet with us tonight, but he’s got gate duty.”

Well, I’ll be damned. Ethan and Travis aren’t technically prospects yet, but they sure are acting like one already. That and Drae seems to be stepping back up, not to mention, Levi’s brothers all seem to have eagle eyes as well.

“Let me talk to Levi to see how much space they need before the targets and then we’ll settle on a location. Good job, keep up the good work,” I said as I clapped his shoulder. He gives me a chin lift and walks back over to Alexei and Travis, who gave me subtle chin lifts. They talk for a bit and then split up, going to different areas of the backyard. Alexei nods to Smoke and heads inside.

“He’ll be a good addition, both of them, plus, they seem to have a good eye,” Smoke says, and I agree.

“Fuck, you’re right, we need to do that still tonight before everyone gets shit-faced.” I pull out my phone and send a quick text to Thor.

With another glance around, I spot Nicole over by one of the firepits. She’s talking to some guy, but she’s glaring at Levi who’s still in Thor’s lap.

“We need to keep an eye on her, Smoke. See if she did it or someone else.”
