“I know you’re not calling me right now. You’ve barely been there hours and I can’t even make a joke about your needing to be told how to do it. You already made a kid, brother,” Daniel said.
“I just wanted to check on the baby,” I said.
“Faran is fine. He’s just waking up from his nap and Shepard is giving him a bottle. How are you guys? I don’t feel Fen on the family link yet. Get to work.”
“We’ve only been here a few hours. The drive was intense and ---”
“Without Faran to calm everyone down, I bet,” Daniel chuckled. “You did make it to the resort, right? You’re not stranded on the side of the road or something?”
“No, Dad,” I chuckled. “I think I would’ve started with that.”
“Maybe not. Maybe you’re being held hostage by cuddling rodents.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s speciest,” I said.
“I’m not sure. They do like cuddling a lot,” Daniel said. “Now, enough about the rats. Go have fun. Go claim Fen before someone’s head explodes.”
I opened my mouth to tell him it wasn’t that simple but didn’t want to go into any more details of my sex life with my brother.
“Take care of my pup, brother.”
“Always will,” he said. “You just turn off the therapist brain and relax, alright?” He said, his voice turning serious.
“I’m trying brother,” I said.
“I believe in you. Now go on,” he laughed, and I ended the call.
I took a few deep breaths before heading back into the suite. Daniel was right. I knew Faran was more than okay with him and Shepard, but he was the tiniest and hugest person in my universe. If anything happened to him, I’d never be okay.
Someone, probably, Irwin had changed the sheets while I was in the hall. The shower was quiet. So, I headed in for my turn. The bathroom was all white, blue, and bougie. The shower had three heads and was big enough for an orgy.
“He just booked a size up, because if it’ll hold an orgy, it’ll hold a three some,”my fox chuckled inside my thoughts as I washed up.
“Alpha?”Irwin chimed into my thoughts over our mating link.“You about ready to eat?”
“I’ll be out in a minute. You guys can start without me if you need to. I just stepped out to call and check on Faran.”
“We’ll wait. Just hurry,”he said.“I miss you. We miss you.”
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Fen
Irwin and I sat on the sofa together in our soft hotel robes. He sat at the far end with one leg crossed over the other eyeing the cart. I wasn’t sure if we were staying an arm’s length from each other because he was afraid we’d catch the romping bug again or if we were leaving space between us to squish Marcus when he came in.
“How are you feeling about everything?” Irwin asked when the silence dragged on too long.
“Good,” I nodded. “Are you guys okay?”
“We’re good too,” he laughed. “Good almost doesn’t seem like the right word.”
“I know what you mean,” I nodded. “It’s better than good. I’m still nervous. It’s so weird.”
“Not weird. First times are always a bit nerve wrecking even when they’re the right time and the right people,” he said, scooting closer. “I should’ve asked before we even left Heartville,” he lowered his voice. “Do you have any questions? I’m not saying Europe doesn’t do sex-ed, but even at Hemlock Academy I felt some things were lacking.”
“Not a question exactly, but I think we have to talk about babies again,” I said, looking away. “I didn’t get birth control before we left and….” My words trailed off because I’d already said as much as I could manage.
“Do you want a baby?” Irwin asked.
