“Find those muscles, this cast weighs a ton,” she warned him before they shifted me from the bed into the wheelchair. “Normally I’d be against this, but all four of you are being a pain in my ass.”

I smiled at that. Knowing they were alert enough to make her life hell had hope blooming in my chest.

“Damien is the first stop, he’s furthest away,” she explained as we wheeled down the hall. She didn’t bother knocking before backing the chair into his room.

Damien’s dark eyes zeroed in on me and the alpha sagged in relief.

“Eliza,” he breathed out like his prayers had been answered. Neither one of us could really move well so she wheeled me back so I could take his hand in mine.

“You’re okay?” I asked, my voice wobbling as I fought back tears. He didn’t even bother to hide the one leaking out of the corner of his eye.

“We both are,” he said as if he needed to hear it, too. His palm rested on my cheek and we just stared at each other for a few beats.

When my eyes darted to the door for the second time, he finally let me go with a pained chuckle.

“Go, check on them. I need rest,” he said, giving me an out.

“I love you, Damien,” I said in response.

“I love you more than anything,” he replied, kissing my palm. The nurse rushed out and came back with a pill cup and water in her hands. her face was a fierce glare.

“You better take these meds now, you hear me,” she bit out. He glared back but dutifully took the meds. His eyes slippedclosed and he whispered one last goodbye before he was softly snoring.

Once we were outside, Romeo gave me an update.

“He’s been fighting meds until he saw you,” he explained. “Stubborn ass.”

“That’s Damien,” I chuckled.

“No, that’s all three of these damn men,” she countered, wheeling me into another room. “They’re both in here.”

“Bane, Loki,” I called out as we moved into their shared room. Both of their eyes snapped to me and Loki started pulling at the cables connected to him before she abandoned my chair and started swatting at his hands.

“Stop that shit or I’ll wheel her ass right back to her room,” she thundered. This small omega was good at her job and just fierce enough to withstand the bullshit stubborn patients threw her way.

“Fine,” he grumbled as he struggled to sit up. She let out an exasperated sigh and helped raise the bed before doing the same for Bane.

“I swear you guys have given me gray hair,” she muttered as she made sure they were comfortable and motioned for Romeo to push me closer. Each of my hands went to theirs and we clung to each other. I couldn’t speak through the tears but Loki had no issue.

“You never should have put yourself in danger like that,” he growled. His audacity had my tears drying right up.

“If you’re hoping for an apology, you can fucking forget it. I would do it all over again,” I said evenly. “You would have died. Do you know what that would have done to me? And what about you both just ghosting me at the hospital telling me fucking nothing?”

“You could have died,” he countered, voice rough.

“But she’s a fucking badass,” Bane rumbled with a pained laugh, coughing hard enough she rushed over and gave him a drink, fussing over him.

I made a mental note to send this nurse one hell of a gift when we were all out of the hospital. She’d fucking earned it.

She left us to talk then, likely rushing off for more meds. Romeo stood behind me while the guys gave me an update on their injuries and recovery.

“We’re a mess,” I sighed.

“We’re alive,” Bane reminded me. “Thanks to you.”

“Viper’s blaming himself,” Romeo said with a sigh.

“He’s pack, we never would have let him take this fall alone,” Loki said without missing a beat. He was fiercely loyal and his acceptance of Damien warmed my heart. If anything could bring a pack together, it would be nearly dying for each other.
