“She’s half-drunk now, how is she going to drive?” Bane laughed. “Come on, good thing I brought food.”
“Are we about to have a biker picnic?” I asked, barely holding my laughter back as he guided me to a bench. He shot me a glare before handing me a thermos of coffee and a granola bar.
“Hardly. Eat your snack, you brat,” he demanded with a laugh.
Loki
As soon aswe got back to the compound, my phone started ringing. I motioned for Eliza and the others to go on without me when I saw that it was Maximo.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Maximo didn’t bother with small talk. It was something I’d always liked about the other alpha.
“There’s something you need to see,” he replied bluntly. “Can we stop by?”
“Sure, just— Never mind.”
I hung up the phone when Zaven pulled up and parked the SUV. Maximo didn’t get out though, instead the door opened to reveal Maximo sitting there gesturing for me to join him.
This wasn’t going to be good.
I shot a quick text to Bane that he was in charge if anything came up while I was gone and then I was in the car.
Zaven took off right after I buckled up, tense silence thick in the car.
“Are you going to tell me what’s going on?” I demanded.
“Better to show you,” Maximo explained, running a hand over his beard.
“Does this have to do with—?”
“Yes.”
Shit.
It was a quick ride out of town and into Foxwich where the rival club ran their business. I shot a questioning glance at my friend but he remained silent as Zaven parked the vehicle outside of their compound.
“Watch.”
It didn’t take long for them to show up. Four men from Viper’s New York chapter were still here and were talking it up with Hawk, the president of the Devils. My eyes narrowed at their interaction and then my entire body tensed when I saw our rivals open boxes. Even from a distance, I could see them picking up and inspecting guns.
The situation had just upgraded from bad to almost worst case scenario.
“Why can’t they let this shit go?” I growled, slamming my hands into the back of the empty seat in front of me. “He put someone else in charge, it wasn’t going to end the entire damn chapter.”
“I know I don’t have to tell you this but extra security with Eliza would be a good idea. I’m already putting more guards on Hazel and informing Yuri so they can do the same with Sienna and Killian. We’ll also send someone for Teagan since she’s in town.”
“Yes. I’ll also have to talk to Viper to see how we can handle this shit before it becomes an actual incident.”
“Alessandro is good if you need dead bodies or need to get rid of them,” Maximo leveled an even stare in my direction. “But I wanted you to see this happening with your own two eyes so you’re aware of what exactly is going on.”
“It will be dealt with, I can promise you that,” I growled. “Let’s get back to Alexandria.”
Maximo ordered Zaven to take us back and after a nod goodbye, I got out of the SUV. Stalking toward the clubhouse I pulled up Viper’s name and called him.
“What’s up, pres?”
“Club house. Now. We have some shit to talk about. Bane, too. Tell Romeo to keep Eliza occupied for now but they will need to come in later.”
“On it.”
