"You won't allow it?"
"Nope," Jaxson said, booping her nose.
He tried to get off of the bed, but her grip around his torso tightened.
"Little one," he said. "I need to get out of bed and then I can pick you up."
She let go of him, and he quickly got out of bed before pulling her into his arms. Sofia held onto him like a Koala, but he didn't mind. He loved that she felt safe enough to latch onto him like this. Though, Jaxson didn't know if it was because of the sub drop or if she actually felt comfortable enough to do it.
"Do you need to go potty?" he asked.
"No," she whispered.
He wasn't surprised that she didn't need to go. He had a feeling she didn't drink much at all today. Jaxson was going to have to change that. It wasn't healthy. A lot of things that Sofia did were not healthy. Did she not have enough money for food? Or did she choose to not eat a lot? He hoped it was because of money but he couldn't rule the other one out.
"Alright. If you do, you let me know," He said as he started to walk towards the kitchen. "I have grilled cheese, toast, or I can make you a fruit smoothie. Which one do you want?"
"Smoothie."
Jaxson had vanilla protein powder he was going to put into the smoothie so she could get some of the protein she needed. He wanted her to be healthy and gain some weight.
"Alright, Little one," he said. "I'm going to set you down on the counter so I can make the smoothie."
A whine escaped her lips, and she held tighter onto him. Okay, maybe she wasn't going to let him go.
"I'll be right here. You'll be able to see me the whole time."
That didn't help one bit. How was he going to make it with her in his arms?
"No, let's go," she whispered.
"Alright," he replied. "Hang onto me so I can make your smoothie."
Jaxson made quick work of cutting the fruit and putting it into the blender. Thankfully, he had put them in the freezer before he went to work yesterday so they were already cold, and he didn't need to add any ice in it.
"You doing okay?" he gently asked as he turned the blender on.
He felt her nod her head ever so slightly before putting it back in his neck. Jaxson added the protein powder in before quickly blending everything together and pouring it into a cup.
"Alright. Smoothie is ready for you to eat," he said as he walked into the living room.
He figured she wasn't going to let him go and he wasn't even going to try. Jaxson sat down on the couch carefully.
"Can you look at Daddy?"
Sofia pulled away from him and let him start to feed her the smoothie. He held the cup, tilting it back when she drank some and resting his arm when she wasn't. Jaxson could get used to this. He absolutely loved taking care of her and showing her that she mattered to him.
"Is it good?" he asked.
"Yep," she replied, giving him a smile.
He put that information away for later. This would be a good snack or breakfast meal for her if she didn't want to eat a fullbreakfast. It had enough protein, fat, and carbs to help sustain her body.
"Good. If you ever want one, you let Daddy know and I'll make you one," he gently said as he fed her some more of the smoothie.
She quickly finished the rest of the smoothie. Jaxson was about to get up, but Sofia snuggled into his chest and closed her eyes.
I guess we're not moving,he thought to himself.
