"Sofia," he said. "You're hurt and I want to make sure that you're okay."

"No, thank you," she replied, remembering to use her manners. Maybe if she was nice to him, he would say she was okay to not see the doctor.

"No. It's either Michael or I can take you to the ER."

She stilled and shook her head. "I don't like either option."

"Tough luck. Pick one. Michael or ER."

Sofia let out a sigh. "Michael," she whispered, not liking the idea at all. But if she had to pick one, she would rather have Michael than some random person.

Though, would she? She knew Michael but would that make it weird between her and Monroe?

"Wait!" she yelled as he brought out his phone. Did she want Michael to look at her?

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I don't know," she whispered. "Michael is Monroe's Daddy."

"That won't be a problem. She knows he looks over the other Littles and makes sure they are healthy and she's okay with that. Michael asked Monroe before he started doing it. It won't make anything different between you and Monroe."

She let out a breath before she nodded her head. She still didn't like this and when Michael came, she was going to say something.

"Let me call Michael and then we can snuggle up on the couch until he gets here," Daddy said.

Sofia tried to relax in the chair as Daddy talked on the phone but it was hard. She knew the doctor was coming, and she didn't like that. She didn't want that.

"Come on," Daddy said, and he picked her up. "Let's go snuggle."

She stayed silent as he walked them into the living room and sat down on the couch. Sofia immediately snuggled into his side and closed her eyes. Maybe she could somehow convince Michael that she didn't need to be looked over. She didn't know how she was going to convince him, but she could figure it out by the time he got here.

The doorbell rang, and Sofia's whole body stiffened. That was quick.

"Michael was nearby when I called," Daddy said. "Let me go get the door. Be a good girl and stay on the couch."

Daddy got up and Sofia tried to think of something she could do to get out of this, but couldn't think of anything.

"Hello Sofia," Michael said as he walked into the living room.

CHAPTER NINETEEN

SOFIA

Sofia stared at Michael as he walked into the living room. She wasn't prepared for him to come here so soon. She thought she had a couple more minutes to think of a way to get out of this situation, but she was wrong.

He was here now, and she hadn't come up with anything.

"I heard there was a special Little girl who is hurt and needs me to check her over," Michael said. "Do you know who that could be?"

"Not I," she whispered.

Daddy stood behind Michael and shook his head. "Naughty girl. You know it's you."

She shook her head. It wasn't her and she didn't know who Daddy was talking about.

"I is goods," she said.

"I think by the bruise on your face that it's you," Michael softly said. "I know doctors can be scary, but if you're a good girl, I have some candy in my bag that you can have."
