“Do you know what sick leave is?” he asked. “You get paid for it. What you would normally make in a shift, you’ll make but instead of working, you’ll be resting to recover from the mugging.”
“I don’t know,” she whispered. “I’m okay working.”
“You won’t be working,” he said. “You’ll be taking a couple days off, paid days off, to rest up, and let your body heal from everything. It’s not up for discussion and my decision is final. You’ll be staying with me for the next couple of days, so I know that you’re actually resting and letting your body heal.”
Sofia opened her mouth to argue, but Jaxson raised his eyebrow and looked at her, making her quickly shut her mouth.
“No arguing,” he said. “You’re overwhelmed, scared, and hurting. I’m taking over as your Daddy, so you don’t have to worry about any of that."
She loved the sound of that, but she also didn’t know. She was hesitant..
“Do you understand?” he asked.
Before Sofia could say anything, the door opened, and both of them looked at Leo who walked in.
“What the fuck happened?”
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
SOFIA
Sofia’s eyes went wide as she stared at Leo. What was he doing here? She had only seen him a handful of times at the club, but never talked to him.
He was scary.
With how broad his shoulders were, his height, and the way he carried himself, she knew he meant business at any point. Sofia didn’t know what he did before he became one of the owners for BTS. All she knew was he was terrifying.
He never smiled at people, never talked much, and never really interacted with anyone besides the owners.
Leo took a step towards them and Sofia shied away and got closer to Jaxson. She knew he wouldn’t hurt her, but her mind wasn’t in the best place right now. He was big, scary, and he could hurt her very easily.
“Sorry,” he said as he slowly raised his hands. “I didn’t mean to scare you. You don’t have to be afraid of me. I’ll never hurt you.”
She continued to stare at him, watching his every move as he took a couple steps closer. He turned his body towards Jaxson who was still in front of her, kneeling on the ground.
“What happened?” he asked, his voice growing cold. “Who did that to her?”
Jaxson turned towards Sofia and gave her a small smile. “Do you know the man who mugged you?”
She shook her head. She didn’t get a good look at him and she was pretty sure the guy was wearing a mask. The man’s voice was also unfamiliar, everything about him was unfamiliar.
“Where exactly was it?” Jaxson asked.
She took a breath. She just wanted to fall asleep and not talk about this, but she knew he wouldn't let her right now. He was asking questions, and he wanted to know the answers.
“Tired,” she mumbled, closing her eyes.
She felt his hands cup her face.
“I know you’re tired, but can you answer a couple more questions for me?” Jaxson softly asked.
Tears formed in her eyes. Everything was getting to be too much, and she just wanted to sleep and forget about everything.
“Sweetie,” Leo said. “Can you please tell us where it was?”
She blinked and let the tears fall from her eyes and down her cheek. “Right in front of my apartment.”
Leo pulled his phone out and brought it up to his ear. She heard him talk, but couldn’t make out what exactly he was saying. What was he doing?
