“What are you doing here? Your shift doesn’t start for several more hours,” he said.

She kept her head down as she walked up closer to him. She didn’t want him to see the left side of her face and ask a lot of questions.

“Monty asked me to cover for her,” she softly said.

Dominic was normally quiet and didn’t say anything. He always seemed to be in a bad mood and she didn’t know why.

“Why are you wearing a cap?” he asked.

Her whole body went rigid at that question. She was hoping no one would notice or ask her that.

“My hair is greasy, and I didn’t have enough time to wash it,” she said, giving the same lie she gave to Monty.

Sofia didn’t know if it would work, but she hoped it would. Maybe she could actually get through this night without any incidents.

“Lift your head then,” he said.

“I’m going to be late for my shift,” she replied.

She didn’t know why he was suddenly asking so many questions. This wasn’t like him at all.

“Stop,” he said as she started to walk past him.

Sofia looked up a little, making sure to keep the left side of her face away from him so he couldn’t see anything.

“Happy?” she asked, starting to get into a bad mood. “Now, I need to go for my shift.”

“No,” he said. “You’re hiding something and I don’t think I’m going to like it.”

“You aren’t my Dom or Daddy.”

She was hoping he would back off, but he didn’t seem like he was going to. Sofia took a step towards the open door, but Dominic grabbed her arm.

“Stop!” she yelled. “Don’t touch me.”

“Then show me your face,” he said. “Or I’ll tell Jaxson you’re hiding something.”

“Tell me what?” Jaxson said. “What’s going on here?”

She put her head down so he wouldn’t be able to see her face. Sofia didn’t want Jaxson to get involved with this.

“She’s hiding something,” Dominic said. “Something about her face. She’s wearing a hat.”

“Shut up,” Sofia hissed.

She was tired, in pain, and now in a bad mood. She didn’t want people getting into her business and yet here everyone was.

“Sofia,” Jaxson said. “That is no way to talk to Dominic.”

Biting her lip, she tried her hardest not to say anything. She was getting agitated and just wanted to be left alone. Maybe she should’ve called in sick and told Monty that she wouldn’t be able to cover her shift.

If only.

“Sofia,” Jaxson said. “Can you look at me?”

She kept her head down and tried to get her arm out of Dominic’s hold.

“Let go,” she growled out.
