She stayed in her spot, trying to process his words. Why did he want her to come around the bar? What could he possibly want?

“Sofia, now,” he commanded.

She felt her legs start to move at the command. Part of her hated that her body was listening to him. The other part of her knew that whatever he was going to do was probably for the best.

Even if she didn’t like it at the moment.

It seemed like Jaxson knew what was best for her. Did she like that? She didn’t know yet. Sofia hadn’t had that in a long time and it was weird. She’s had to take care of herself for years and someone stepping up to take care of her, was odd.

“Between my legs,” he said, pointing.

While she had walked around the bar, he had sat down in one of the chairs, spreading his legs far apart so she could fit in between them. It was intimate. She had never done this before with anyone.

“Sofia,” he said.

She hesitantly stepped forward, in between his legs, but she kept her head down. She didn’t want to look him in the eyes.

“Why are you ignoring me?” he asked. “What happened?”

“I wasn’t,” she whispered, closing her eyes at the lie.

Sofia didn’t know why she just lied right then and there. It was an instinct, but she knew it was wrong. Jaxson had told her he didn’t like lying and there she was, lying to him.

Why did she have to do that?

“Did you just lie to me?” he asked.

She shook her head and sucked in a breath of air. She was just continuing to lie but she couldn’t help it. Once she started, she had to keep it up in case he believed her.

But she knew it wasn’t going to work either. Even if he did magically start to believe her, she knew she would feel so guilty after a couple minutes and end up telling him. The guilt wasalready starting to form in a ball in her stomach, weighing down with each second that passed.

“Naughty girls get punished. I’ll give you one more chance. Did you just lie to me, twice?” he asked.

She shook her head once again, denying that she just lied. Sofia also didn’t believe he was going to punish her. She had never seen him punish someone, so why would he start with her? She was a new hire, and she had seen other employees do way worse than lying to him.

“You just landed yourself corner time for lying to me,” he said.

Her eyes went wide as she looked up to stare at him. He was giving her corner time? Sofia opened her mouth to say something, but she was stunned silent. What was she supposed to say to that?

She didn’t think he would actually punish her. He had never done it before, and she always thought it was an empty threat.

Jaxson grabbed her chin with his fingers and she stared into his eyes. He meant business.

“If you lie to me again, your punishment will be worse,” he said.

Sofia opened her mouth to tell him she wasn’t lying, but he raised his eyebrow like he knew she was about to lie again. She quickly closed her mouth and slightly nodded her head.

Corner time sucked, and she didn’t want time added on. She didn’t know what he would do to make the punishment worse. Her first thought was time added on but he could do other things. Jaxson could make her write lines, get a spanking, ginger, and more. There were endless possibilities, and she needed to keep her mouth shut so she didn’t make it worse.

“Now, are you going to lie to me again?” he asked.

She shrugged her shoulders. Lie to him right now, probably not, but she couldn’t promise she wasn’t going to lie in thefuture. That would be silly to promise she wouldn’t lie when she couldn’t control it. What if she was in a dangerous situation and the only way to keep him safe was to lie?

She didn’t want to break a promise. That was one of the worst things she could do. Sofia hated breaking promises. When she did, it was normally her last resort and she always felt guilty after.

“Sofia?” he asked.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. How was she supposed to answer that? Did he mean right now or forever?
