Please be there, she was our only hope at getting her back.
As I got closer, I noticed four people standing at the gates peering in. Relief flooded through me, but at the same time, I was instantly on my guard. I shifted quickly while I stood in front of them, her sister looked at me alarmed.
“Someone just took her, he… he… was with another man, he just took her on the east side of the property, please.” I managed to get out.
“Who took her? Was it Caston?”
I shook my head.
“Some man who could control electricity. At least, that’s what I thought it was. He took her.”
“Did he look crazy?”
“Deranged,” I said, still panicking.
She turned around to look at the guys behind her. Two of them were twins who smelled like vampires while the other was as big as I was, smelling like a fellow wolf.
“I’ll pay whatever you want, just please go get her. You will be faster than me.”
They looked at her for a moment then one of the twins smiled slyly.
“You know what I want, Belladonna.” He smirked before taking off at lightning speed.
His twin grumbled something before following his brother.
“Can I run the perimeter with you?” she asked, throwing me off guard. I didn’t expect her to be so nice.
“Yes,” I shifted, nodding at her seeing the other man had shifted too.
She was fast and able to keep up with me and the other wolf, who I assumed was Ryder. I wouldn’t let myself hope that they would find her. I knew cars were fast and if he had one close by, they were already gone. Zev and Lucien were still standing there, looking back at me with defeat in their eyes.
“He took her down that way,” I said, pointing to where we saw her last. They nodded their heads before taking off where I hoped the twins had found her.
“Who are they and what the hell are you doing?” Zev snarled at me when he noticed the new people.
“It’s her sister and Ryder,” I said, walking past him.
“Are they going to find her?” Lucien looked hopeful, rubbing his chest like he had an ache.
I felt the same, like a piece of me was missing.
“What if they don’t bring her back?” Zev growled. “Did you think of that? What if her sister just takes her?”
“At least she would be with someone who could keep her safe!” I raised my voice. “Did you want to leave her with that psycho?”
“They are going to take her!” he roared.
“We don’t know that! And when did you start giving a fuck?” We got into each other’s faces. “If her sister saves her, but doesn’t bring her back, at least I know she will take care of her and she won’t be suffering. When she’s up to it, she will come back to us.”
“You think she is going to be stupid enough to come back and continue to be trapped here with us?” He pushed me. “I didn’t think you were that naive.”
“I’m not naïve. I submit to the love I have for her, something you will never understand because you can’t ever let go. Even now, you have to make excuses to have her around you. I don’t want her to suffer with that asshole and if her sister takes her, then I can rest easy knowing she is safe away from danger.” I pushed him back. “Her sister is our only option and I have faith in our love, my mate will come back to me.”
I bared my teeth at him, ready to fight him. My wolf was wanting blood, and it didn’t matter whose it was.
“Don’t be fucking idiots,” Lucien snarled. “If they help keep her safe then who cares who goes after her. Stop fighting each other, and fucking focus.”
Zev and I looked at Lucien in a little bit of shock.
