Leo blurts out, "You're a girl?" in surprise, his words ringing through the room. I can't help but feel a mix of curiosity and skepticism as I observe the woman standing before us.

With a calm and confident demeanor, she promptly responds, her voice steady and authoritative. "Yes, I am a highly trained, experienced woman, and more than capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of this role."

Her voice is husky--a trait one wouldn't expect from someone who looks so fragile.

The room falls into a momentary silence as Leo absorbs Charlotte's assertive reply. The weight of his surprise and any preconceived notions he may have held lingers in the atmosphere. I watch as his expression shifts, transitioning from surprise to contemplation.

Caleb and I meet each other's gaze, holding back our amusement at seeing Leo passively put in his place. No, we weren't expecting a woman. However, looking at her now, I can't help wondering how amusing this could be. She appears to be confident, presenting herself in a professional demeanor, and rather determined to be seen as such.

Admirable.

Leo, recognizing his misstep, quickly regains his composure and apologizes for his comment. "Sorry, that was rude. Of course you are."

The woman merely nods.

Debbie breaks the silence that follows Leo's apology with a gentle smile; it seems almost symbolic. She adjusts her glasses on the bridge of her nose. "Now, then, why don't you introduce yourself."

Leo takes a deep breath and steps forward. "I'm Leo Thompson," he begins, straightening his back as if presenting himself for some kind of inspection. "Co-founder of BioCore Solutions--though I'm sure you know that."

Rolling his eyes, Caleb extends his hand. "Caleb Carter."

Her magnetic green eyes fall on me.

"And I'm Jackson Harris." I greet, flipping the switch on my most charming smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

She takes a few steps closer and shakes each of our hands before finally introducing herself. "My name is Charlotte Moore," she says plainly. "But I go by Charlie."

Charlie begins to give us some insight into her background, from the various specialist positions she has held, to the people she's worked for. She details all of her accomplishments with self-assurance without seeming boastful or arrogant - a trait that is both intriguing and captivating.

As Charlie finishes detailing her impressive resume, I can't help but feel a spark of curiosity ignite within me. Although she appears to exude an aura of confidence, there's something else about her that catches my attention. Something that lies beneath her steady gaze and unwavering composure.

Before I can think any further, Caleb interjects into the conversation. "That's quite the list of accomplishments you've got under your belt, Charlie. But what made you interested in joining BioCore Solutions?"

Charlie's eyes flicker with amusement as she responds. "The challenge, mostly. But I also prefer working as a personal bodyguard rather than a general member of a security team."

As Charlie talks, I can't help but notice the way she moves, the way her hips sway as she gestures. It's as if she's completely aware of her body and its movements. I try to push down the sudden urge to imagine what it would feel like to run my hands over those curves.

"Right," Leo clears his throat, breaking my line of thought. "You mentioned that you're a specialist in personal bodyguarding. What exactly is the difference?"

She quirks her brow and says, "The difference between working alone and working with a team?"

Charlie's eyes lock with mine and I feel a jolt of electricity run down my spine. Her gaze is intense, filled with an unspoken challenge as if daring me to find something she isn't capable of.

"Do you find it harder to work with others?" Leo challenges, though his smirk reveals his own amusement.

"Yes, in fact." Her voice is all business - firm, direct, and unyielding. "Too many people can get in the way and cause issues."

I speak up, breaking the silence that had fallen over the room. "You realize that this is a three to one ratio, and a team might be effective to cover more ground?"

Again, her strong gaze returns to mine. "I have every capability to take care of all three of you, Mr. Harris."

"Yes," Debbie chimes in, speaking up after her bout of silence. "Rest assured that you are in good hands with Miss Moore."

As the conversation continues, Charlie speaks with such confidence and authority that I can't help but be captivated by her. I find myself drawn to the way she moves, the way she talks, and even the way she carries herself. There's something about her that is both alluring and intimidating at the same time.

I've worked with security teams before, but her presence is so different from what I'm used to. I can't help but feel a sense of excitement mixed with apprehension as I imagine what it would be like to have Charlie as my personal bodyguard.

What might she be like in other situations - beyond this professional setting? Is she just as confident in her personal life? Does she have a softer side that she keeps hidden from the world?
