The cocky shit.
"This is the part Jesse always fucks up," one of the guys next to me said.
"Just you wait, Mate," Jesse smiled and I kept my eyes on Kit as he chucked himself through the air and latched onto a hanging rope. A single rope situated by itself. To get to the next one he had to climb higher to gain a swing, then leap. I watched as his hands slipped and I gasped. Each of the guys made a sound together and then cheered once he quickly brought it back and climbed back up the rope.
Again, he swung from that rope to the next one, using his technique to not lose his grip or fall. I stood, my mouth slightly agape just looking at how drop-dead gorgeous he was. It made my mouth water just staring at him. The last part of the course was a rock climbing challenge. Again, it had no safety net or safety mats beneath and once he got to the top he had to abseil back down again by a rope to the side. Safe to say, I was an anxious mess by the end of the course. Watching Kit climbing, and getting a full view of his back showed his strength and it was unbelievably sexy.
Then watching him abseil back down, like Spiderman made my insides tingle and we all clapped as he grinned and made his way back. He collected his t-shirt and came straight towards me, kissing my cheek as he brought his arm around my back.
"How'd I do?" he asked,
"You're a bloody ninja," I answered positively.
It made him smile as Jesse got ready to compete. Jesse did a great job too, despite what I'd been told about his previous tries. He didn't fall, but he did take longer to finish than Kit.
He was younger and had plenty of time to catch up. Each of the guys were bloody amazing and I stood fascinated by each of them and their sheer strength. I could understand why an assault course like this was good for them. A couple of lads were making their way over, and I recognised them instantly. It was Nick and Jax.
"You still competing on this damn thing?" Jax asked them, then nodding his head at me in greeting.
Nick moved towards me and gave me a quick side hug and stared up at the assault course.
"Not all of us can muster it first time, Jax," one of the guys said making them all smile.
"You've done it?" I asked Jax.
He nodded. "We all have. Jesse is still tryna find something he can beat us at," he grinned.
I caught sight of Jesse's face, a clear grin plastered across. He had a towel wrapped around his neck as he approached and he held it at each end.
"Well, as a matter of fact, I have found something. But instead, we'll all be competing as a team. That doesn't mean we can't all place our own little bets, though. Best part, we can raise money doing it too."
I smiled, noticing a sweet spot to Jesse. I hadn't known him long but it was nice to hear he cared about that.
"And what's that?" Nick asked, crossing his arms.
"You ever heard of the tough mudder challenge?"
"I haven't, but it sounds…."
"Muddy," I filled in and Nick smirked at me.
"Yeah, well, two miles of absolute sludge."
Jax, Kit and Nick all nodded and I raised my eyebrows.
"Does that mean you're in?" he asked, staring at each of them. "What about placing bets? You sure you'll wanna compete against each other?" Jesse asked and I scoffed.
"They compete against each other on a daily basis anyway."
The brothers were constantly squabbling and challenging each other. It was part of their banter.
"I like it," Kit said. "Have Tricia pick a charity, sure she won't mind organising it. We'll get everyone involved."
Jesse grinned, getting excited like a little boy at Christmas.
"So, let me get this straight, we're gonna purposely run throughshit?" Nick asked.
"Mud, Mate," Jax smiled, holding onto Nick's shoulder.
