She must be her.

Spencer’s wife.

It seems like we’re all here at the park today, and I’m taking the wild guess that things are about to get a whole lot worse.

SPENCER

Fuck.

She’s tracked me down.

I should’ve known this was coming ever since we signed that non-disclosure agreement. I’ve always known that, somehow, Olivia would find out about my family. About my daughter. About my wife.

But Olivia Weldon’s got it wrong. So terribly wrong.

She isn’t listening to me. She isn’t prepared to give me a moment to explain.

But it’s too late.

Quinn is walking straight toward us.

Trouble.

And now Olivia’s about to find out how very wrong she really has been.

This is the past I was trying to hide from her, and now it’s caught up to me.

OLIVIA

Spencer’s wifestarts yelling before she’s even made it to us from across the park.

“How dare you take her. How dare you.”

I don’t understand at all, but the woman’s face is twisted in a grimace. She’s angry. At my professor.

For taking Daisy?

“Quinn...”

Spencer’s trying to reason with her even as she storms toward us.

So. Her name’s Quinn? Quinn Penmayne.

I seriously think I should bolt. I don't want to be here. I definitely don't want to meet this woman. But her tone is so damn intense that I end up staying.

Something is wrong, I can tell.

“You can’t take her,” Quinn continues at the professor. “This is kidnapping.”

“Please don’t cause a scene, Quinn,” Spencer says, looking around at everyone else in the park staring. It’s certainly a bit late to stop this being a scene. Despite that, his voice is slow and composed, which is a complete contrast to the woman's, who's marching furiously toward us. “Not in front of her, please. We can talk about this.”

But his wife is undeterred. She reaches us and points a threatening finger at him. “You’re not allowed to see her,” she says.

“She’s mydaughter,” Spencer replies.
