He pressed his strong body into mine, and I felt his length growing against my stomach as my hands entangled in his wild hair, pulling him closer to me. I moved my legs apart, giving him better access. His right hand pressed further into my shirt, softly rubbing my nipple, causing my body to react to him. I felt the pool forming between my legs as he touched me.
“Clara, it’s been too long.”
He whispered in my ear as he pressed kisses into my neck, tracing them back to my mouth. I opened for him, allowing him to take control of me. Madok turned onto his back, pulling me on top of him. My core on his. I smiled, and he flashed his right back to me. I leaned down, pressing my mouth into his once again, softly circling my hips over him as he growled into my mouth.
Just as my mind was clearing and starting to enjoy this with him, I heard the door slam open. I quickly pulled back, flipping my head around to the door.
Fuck Me.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Evander practically screamed at us. Madok tried to push me off of him, but I stayed. Unmoving.
“What does it look like?” I titled my head at him as he approached the bed. He gripped my arm, pulling me off of Madok. He dragged me across the room to the door.
I screamed, “Let me go, Evander!”
He gripped my upper arm, pulling me to face him as he spoke through clenched teeth, “I never will.”
I looked back to Madok sitting up in my bed. Helpless. Evander turned his attention to the two guards walking our way.
“Take him to the dungeons,” he commanded. I shook my head furiously.
“No. No, Evander. You can’t do that. He hasn’t done anything wrong,” I begged.
He laughed, “He touched you. That’s what he did wrong.”
As he continued to drag me down the hallway, I grew infuriated. My hands started to glow a bright white, and Evander took notice. He covered them with his own, causing me to push back again. His hand gripped my throat as he pushed me into an alcove, pressing my back against the cold wall. His face was enraged as he tightly held me there.
I gripped his arm with my hands, but my grip faltered. He lifted me off the ground, holding me by just my throat.
I gasped for air. Searched for it.
I felt his power. His strength had always been so tamed, but I had never felt this. A Darkness. An Evil. A strength unlike any other.
“You will never touch him again. If you do, I will kill him, Clara. Do you understand me?” He started to lower me to the ground, part of his rage starting to disintegrate. “You are making this entire plan difficult.”
I scoffed with his hand still around my throat. “Would you rather I just give up? Let the King kill me. I’m sure that would ease your struggle to ‘protect’ me?”
He shook his head. The green eyes I have gotten to know looked away from me momentarily, then returned to mine with a vengeance as he bellowed at me, “You have no idea what you are up against, Clara. Stop fighting me. I am trying to help you!”
“Oh. So, you holding me against my will and this wall is what you call helping me? Sorry, I guess it got lost in translation, Evander,” I shouted.
Immediately, his hand dropped down to my wrist. Without saying a word, he pulled me down the hall.
Shit. What am I going to do?
He took me to another spare bedroom and threw me in. With one final glance, he slammed the door, and I heard it lock from the outside. I was trapped.
Chapter 19
The sounds of banging fists on the wooden door startled me.
“Princess Clara, you are to prepare yourself for breakfast with the royal family immediately. We will be in to retrieve you in a few minutes,” some whiney and scared guard shouted through the door. I only say scared because I could sense his fear.
I dressed and looked as presentable as possible in the black pants and hunter-green shirt that Evander obviously left. I knew I had to do whatever I could to protect the people I loved and cared about, and I was about to discover my fate. I opened the door and started my final walk.
The dining room table was full of delicious-looking food, but I didn’t want to indulge in eating because what if it was poisoned? The other part of me that grumbled in my midsection told me that I was completely insane for not touching it. I sat across the table from Evander. Madok was separated at the other end of the table, with new bruises on his beautiful face.
“We thank you for joining us for our first meal of the day. I know we didn’t get off on the right foot, but I’d like to change that with this second meal we have shared,” the King said so casually to me, not even looking up from the toast hewas buttering.
