My confusion was written across my face as my face scrunched up before asking, "What truth?"
They both stepped in and closed the door behind them. "The truth about our world. About Enythius. We need to know, and the book has what we need."
Eros positioned himself between them and the book, "And why is that?" He tilted his head. "Why do you need to know it?"
Loveridge exhaled loudly and stared at Eros with a stare that could make me tell her all my darkest secrets.
"You know damn well why we need to know. Only Clara can unlock the pages because she is one ofthem. None of us can read the pages. You know this truth."
Eros dropped his shoulders slightly while he stood there looking at her.
"She is an Enythius, but don't you think you should give her a minute to figure out what is in the book before you bombard her with all your witchy demands." He turned and walked back toward where we had been sitting by the small chasm table. He gestured to open it, so I did.
I remembered everything that Colette did and mimicked her every movement and breath. When the chasm opened, I immediately reached in to grasp the book. It had a lock on the side, just as it did earlier, but Colette opened it with such ease and grace, and I hoped it would be the same for me. I pressed my finger into the lock slot, and it instantly opened.
I glanced at Eros, trying not to freak out, as I noticed Kay and Loveridge approaching me.
"If you could all stop staring, that'd be great."
Kay smiled, but the evil spawn, Loveridge, did nothing.
When I flipped the book open, I felt the singe of its power on my fingertips. I was reacting to it, and it was to me.
I ran a finger down the front page just to get the feel. The power rustling underneath the surface. I continued to turn the pages and finally stopped on a vaguely familiar symbol. There were six distinct lines arcing out of a crescent moon. Within the center was a large golden line that centered them all. I kept coming back to the golden line, studying it. Something about it pulled at my soul. Something that I should know.
Everything would be exposed when I opened this seal. The truths would become known to me. My onyx ring hummed on my finger as I thought about opening my mind to these pages. To understand them. When I did, the same light that was pushed into me during solidification poured out of the book. The entire room was lit with an ambient glow.
I glanced up at Eros, who watched me attentively.
It's okay. Keep going. Find the truth.
I looked down at the page, and the light started to calm, but instead of the light illuminating the pages themselves, they glowed from the letters. Each letter had its own light flickering through.
My eyes frantically skimmed the pages that were now displayed to me. To my eyes only. Eros, Kay, and Consul Loveridge couldn't read anything on the page. Only Me.
Darthium—Hathor's World.
Hathor wanted to make a place full of rebirth and acceptance. A place where species could live in harmony together. After creating her world, Ishtar took an interest in a human. A mortal named Myrick. Upon her request of the other Enythius, she quickly realized they would disapprove. Ishtar requested one final time for acceptance of her joining with the mortal from the Divine One, which was ultimately unanswered. Ishtar wove herself into the world of Darthium as a new person. A new being. An Angel. She infiltrated the Zakiel and Cronos bloodlines, conclusively taking the blood of both lines to create a new version of herself. She was able to convince Raquel and Sam, her parents, that she was born through them and she was their child. Because of her strength and power, she was successful.
Upon her doing this, the other Enythius tried to stop her. To make it impossible for her to live her life in Darthium, but they, in turn, were trapped in the world. Forcing them intothe various bloodlines separated across the world. Hathor was first, becoming a shapeshifter within the Thea bloodline. Brigid was the second, becoming a witch in the Artesia bloodline. Third was Tyrian, becoming a werewolf in the Rhysette bloodline. Fourth was Aurora, becoming a Fae in the Ophera bloodline, and lastly, Dolus. He took upon the Aster's name and the species that came along with it, the Vamprye.
With the Enythius’s new personas, they were able to keep a close eye on Ishtar's, or should I say Athiana's, whereabouts while also finding a way to get out of this world. Because of this, difficult decisions were made.
Three Enythius created a vow, a promise, to end Athiana and her deceptions. Hathor, Brigid, and Dolus were the three and their promise was this: Each would have a child that was a dual-species. When they started the bloodlines, they thought they could trust one another. They found a way to banish Ishtar to Tetharus when they were deceived. Aurora complicated things with her own ambitions and because of her choices it caused Ishtar to block their original plan.
The final part of the prophecy was given. Decided blows will be made when the third and final creator is made. Although eminence will be of contrary power, the essence will close off those who devour. Stars must align. The three gives thrice the power. If one must stray, you'll find me weary, as we will all die near the ending.
A child born of divine blood and power is the final seal. Hand in hand, three will end Ishtar and reset the world as it should be without the Enythius living within.
Pulling my eyes from the page, I am quiet and unsure of what I actually just read. If I fully comprehended this, then the gods and goddesses, the Enythius, infiltrated the bloodlines of every species in Darthium. A world that Hathor created, or who we knew in Darthium asLena—the bloodline of Luke.
For the longest time, I thought I was the first part of the prophecy, but I'm starting to think that I'm not. I am the final part.
Eros and Leo were connected to Theo in the curse when the curse broke. Eros and Leo also carry the essence of night in their blood. Maybe… just maybe, they were the start of it. And I need to find Lilibeth to complete the second part of this curse, but how do I do that? How do I find her if she is in Tetharus?
