“I’ve tried not to let this happen, the anger that I have. When other men come around you, I get angry. Earlier when Luke hugged you, I wanted to wrap my hands around his neck and strangle him.” He laughed a cynical and frustrating laugh beforecontinuing, “I just want so badly to be in yourworld. I want a chance to be someone who can make you happy.”

He stopped walking and turned his body to face mine. His eyes were darkened with his pupils dilated, but there was still a light glow of gold behind them as he declared his final request. “I need you, Clara. Every fiber of my being wants you. I know you are not mine to have, but I just...need a night with you. That’s all I need.”

My mind was blazing. I didn’t know if this was some spell, he was putting over me or if it was a natural reaction to him, but I was turned on. He was a few inches from my face and his right hand gripped my cheek as I leaned into his rough and calloused hands. Everything that I had just learned about Evander solidified my reasoning for me to move on. And I would.Tonight.

With a deep voice, he whispered into my ear, “Follow me.”

Chapter 14

Ifelt the warmth of his hand in mine as I trailed behind him. Leo was lean and strong but he was alsohonest. Everything about him was appealing and enticing, drawing me in for more.

Entering the room he was staying in, I noticed it had a panoramic view of the mountains. I was trying everything I could to distract myself from what was about to happen.

I tried to focus on my breathing but my pulse was quickening with every second alone in that room with him. I felt the heat of his body approach me from behind as his chest pressed against my back. The already hard length of him pressed into me and I couldn’t help but have a chill run down my spine. I quickly had a thought arrive in my mind that I couldn’t shake so I turned around and looked into Leo’s eyes before I spoke.

With one swift movement, Leo picked me up, wrapping my legs around his waist and placing his left hand over my asspressing me against him and his right hand pulling my face towards him.

“I already know enough. I’m jealous of the other version of me that you were in love with, but tonight,” he paused, looking at me like I was his drug and if he looked away, the high would be gone. “Tonight, I will give you anything and everything you want as long as I can have you.”

I bit my lip in response to his statement because, shit, it did something to me. I felt the pool forming between my legs and Leo’s eyes went wide with satisfaction, as if he knew.

He gently carried me to the side of his bed, placing me onto the mattress softly and crawling on top of me. His body blocked the moon’s rays from hitting my body, and his stunning face was intensely focused on me. His jawline was sharp with slight, brown stubble caressing the sharpness of his edges.

Quickly, he pulled his shirt off and my eyes trailed his perfectly formed abs that were carved into him. I realized I licked my lips with hunger and his eyes were staring directly at my mouth. Watching how I reacted to him.

“This first round won’t be gentle. I’ve waited far too long for this.” He leaned in closer to my face mere inches from my lips. I felt his breath on me. “But after, I will be as pleasing and gentle as you’d like.”
