“Yes. I like him and can see myself with him someday.”
“Without fears or hesitation?” he asked with a narrowed eye.
“Yes. I believe so.” I tapped the tip of his nose.
He grabbed my hand and spun me around. The jingling of the bell above the door startled us. Turning around, Colin stood there.
“What is going on in here?” he asked with a grin as he held a plastic bag.
“Nothing. Just two friends sharing a little dance in the middle of the day.” Luis smiled.
“Hey.” I grinned. “What are you doing here?”
“I just thought I’d stop by and bring my two favorite people some lobster rolls and sweet potato fries.”
“Oh, dear God. Have I told you how much I love you?” Luis grinned as he took the bag from Colin and went upstairs to the office.
Colin let out a chuckle.
“I see you put a help wanted sign on the door,” he said.
“Yeah. We need help. Especially during this busy season.”
“I totally get that. If I think of anyone, I’ll send them over.”
“Thanks. I’d appreciate it.”
“I better get going. I need to stop across the street at Annie’s shop and pick up a few pies for the bar and grille.”
“She makes your pies?”
“No. But I told her I’d buy some and serve them up as a free dessert with a meal to drum up more business for her.”
“Have you seen the lines over there?” My brow arched.
“I have.” He chuckled. “I’ll call you later.”
“Okay. Thanks for lunch.” I smiled.
My heart melted at what he was doing for Annie and her business.
“Earth to Adalyn.” Luis snapped his fingers.
“Sorry,” I said as I watched Colin walk across the street.
“Oh my God. I think you’ve fallen in love, Adalyn Richards.”
“I think I have.” I chewed my bottom lip as I glanced over at Luis.

Over the next week, Colin and I saw each other for dinner every day after I closed the gallery for the night. We would sit out on Colin’s boat deck or my patio, eat, talk, enjoy a glass of wine, and watch the sunset together. Our relationship quickly became something more than friendship, and we both knew it. We hadn’t had sex since that last time, and as much as I wanted him, I felt it was better to wait and keep sex out of it until we really got to know each other on a deeper level. Colin agreed with me, and as hard as it was keeping our hands off each other, we knew it would happen soon enough.
Later that day, as I was behind the counter wrapping up an art piece to be sent out, the bell above the door rang. When I turned to greet the customer who walked in, I saw it was Olivia.
“Hey, Adalyn.” She gave a small wave.
“Hi, Olivia. Can I help you with something?”
