“What are you doing?” she asked, staring at me skeptically.
“It's a hug,” I chuckled dryly. “You give this to someone you like.”
“And what makes you think I like you?” She crossed her arms, trying to exert a usual aura of superiority.
Ah, I get it now. She still has to be the dominant Alpha female everyone knows and loves in public.
But not on my watch.
“You do like me,” I answered as I embraced her. “I'll miss you, Tabitha.”
I could tell she flinched. She returned the embrace, even tighter, and refused to let go immediately.
“I'm going to miss my flight,” I reminded her.
“Oh yeah, right.” She let me go and cleared her throat. She looked around to make sure no one saw her.
I couldn't resist, so I held her chin and kissed her lips.
“Hmph!” She was muffled, and from the corner of my eye, I could see her hand raised to slap me. Instead, she placed it gently on my face as she returned my kiss.
I pulled away and said. “Take good care of yourself.”
Her eyes were hazy, and she wanted more kisses. The poor baby would have to wait until I returned to Richmond.
“I… will,” she said.
“You can say you'll miss me,” I said.
She looked at me with surprise, then looked at her feet. “Bruce… we're outside.”
I sighed. It was too much for her, but it would have to do for now. I placed my hand on her hair and gently caressed it, then kissed her temple. She was startled again, touching the spot I had kissed.
Her cheeks were redder than a tomato. She was so adorable that I almost changed my mind and stayed behind. I gave her a thumbs-up and left. I could feel her eyes on me as I walked away. Even on the flight, I could tell she was still looking at me.
This is really bad… I'm falling in love with Dr. Tabitha Hill.
Tabitha
He held my chin and kissed my lips.
“Hmph!” I was shocked.
My eyes quickly scanned around us; some people were watching. My reputation… I raised my hand in an attempt to slap him, but… I felt so good. His kisses were my Achille’s heels. So, instead of hitting him, I placed my hand on his cheek, kissing him deeply.
He pulled away. “Take good care of yourself.”
I wanted more kisses.
“I… will,” I said.
“You can say you'll miss me,” he said.
I looked at him with surprise, then at my feet. I was going to miss him. I was changing too fast. He was going to take advantage of me; yet I knew I was going to miss him. I wanted to tell him to stay. I didn't want him to leave.
Instead, all I said was, “Bruce… we're outside.”
He sighed, and it stung. He touched my hair gently and caressed it, then he kissed my temple. I was startled again, touching the spot he had just kissed.
