“What?” Her head jerked, his insult hitting its mark. Darren growled in warning. “Brother.”
Tuck didn’t heed his warning. “I expected something like this from Taylor, but never thought you would do the same thing.”
“The same thing?” she asked weakly, leaning into Darren more. Her legs were shaking and she feared her knees might buckle. For as long as she’d known him, Tuck had never looked at her the way he was right now or talked to her with such disdain. Like it made him physically sick to be in the same space as her. She wasn’t even sure he spoke to Taylor in such a way.
“Yeah. Cheat on me. Did you have to do it with my brother? You could have found someone else. Anyone else. Isn’t that what you asked me?” He drove the stake to her heart deeper.
She felt something in her heart start to tear. She couldn’t believe this was happening. She closed her eyes and let her shoulders slump, feeling completely defeated. The papers she’d been holding crumbled in her hand as silent tears trailed down her cheeks.
“That’s enough, brother. You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Darren slipped an arm around Kylie’s shoulders, pulling her closer into his side, supporting most of her weight.
As if Kylie’s life wasn’t already in complete shambles, Taylor chose that moment to exit the building and joined the group. Immediately feeling the tension, she slipped her hand through Tuck’s arm, holding onto his bicep. Kylie hated the way Taylor acted so familiar and possessive of him.
“What’s going on?” Taylor asked, her eyes bouncing between Tuck, Kylie and Darren.
“Nothing,” Tuck told her.
As was Taylor’s way, she immediately put two and two together and guessed what was going on. “Wait a minute. You’re here because you’re pregnant? By him?” She laughed. “What a self-righteous bitch you turned out to be.”
Kylie’s heart broke a little more when Tuck didn’t try to defend her. But why would he? He thought the same thing Taylor did; that Kylie slept with Darren behind his back. She took in the tense set of his shoulders and the anger flashing like lightning in his eyes.
“Were you going to try and pass the baby off as Tuck’s?” Taylor kept at her.
Kylie didn’t think there was any reason to defend herself. Tuck, with the help of Taylor, had already made up his mind. Any chance of a future with Tuck was gone.
“What? Don’t you have anything to say for yourself?” Taylor kept picking at her.
“That’s enough out of you, bitch.” Darren stepped in and pointed his finger at her. “And I expected better of you, brother.” The pissed off look on his face said if it wouldn’t upset her, he would have decked him. He turned Kylie toward the parking lot. “Let’s go home.”
Darren finished watering his plants and joined her on his deck. He took the seat next to her. With his eyes pointed to the yard, he reached out and took her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze. “We’ll get this figured out, Kylie. Just hang in there a little longer.”

After a week of constantly fending Taylor off, Tuck was exhausted. She was constantly pressuring him to have sex with her so she could induce labor, and he was having none of it. He never thought there would come a day that he would be turning down sex. Yet, he here was.
He’d been in a foul mood ever since he found out Kylie was having a baby with Darren. All he could think about was it should have been him as the father of her children. He’d always imagined, somewhere in the back of his mind, that the two of them would end up together. It was a pretty arrogant thing for him to think considering he hadn’t stayed in touch with her as much as he should have. The funny thing was anytime he’d ever entertained the idea of getting married and having a family, it was Kylie’s face that always popped up. It didn’t matter the amount of time they were apart or the distance between them, it had always been Kylie for him. Yes, he liked to fuck around with lots of women, but he’d always assumed Kylie would be there in the background, waiting for him to grow up and make her his. He shook his head and scoffed at his stupidity.
While he was busy fucking his way through Redemption, she could have met someone, fallen in love and gotten married. Her ex Gavin Turner came to mind. As it turned out, she’d not been as committed to the idea of the two of them making a go at something he felt to his bones could be phenomenal. Her getting pregnant by Darren proved that.
He jumped at the feel of Taylor’s hands settling on his shoulders as he sat on his back deck. He’d been so deep in his pity party, he hadn’t heard her come outside.
“Tuck, will you pleeeease have sex with me?” she whined.
“Taylor. We’ve been through this. I’m not having sex with you. If you bothered to read any of the pregnancy books you brought with you, you would know the baby needs to finish growing and shouldn’t be rushed.” He shrugged her hands off and stood to get away from her. She stepped into him as close as her round belly would allow and cupped his dick through is jeans. Damn, she was fast for a heavily pregnant woman who couldn’t do more than waddle at this point.
“Come on, Tuck. I’m so damn horny and I just want the baby to get here already,” she begged.
He pushed her hand away from his dick and stepped away.
“I can’t believe you don’t care enough about your son to help get him here faster.” She slammed her hands on her hips.
“Look,” he ran his hands through his hair. “If you can’t keep your hands to yourself I’m going to lock you in your room.” He wasn’t really, but he was trying to make a point. Plus, he was desperate to have a moment of peace in his own home. He’d not had a single one since her arrival.
“Seriously? I have to pee like every five minutes and you’re threatening to lock me up?”
“Okay. Fine. I’ll go stay at the clubhouse.” He moved past her and entered the kitchen through the sliding glass doors that she left open. There she went again air conditioning the neighborhood. Of course, it wouldn’t matter to her because she wasn’t paying the damn electric bill.
“What if I go into labor while you’re gone?” She followed close on his heels.
