The door opened wide, allowing bright sunshine to flood the room. Bellamy held the door for Lindsey as she waddled inside. The poor woman looked about ready to pop. Next came Calliope with a baby carrier in one hand and a diaper bag slung over the opposite shoulder. Bellamy brought up the rear.

“Baby, why didn’t you tell me you were coming? I could have met you at the car and helped you get Harper inside.” Jackson swooped in, taking Harper and her carrier from Calliope at the same time he leaned down to drop a kiss on her lips.

“I know you would have. It’s no big deal. I wasn’t sure if you were already in church or not.” She patted her hand on his chest as she smiled up at him.

He followed her to one of the couches and placed the carrier on the floor. He took a seat and freed his daughter from the carrier. He picked her up, a huge smile on his face, as he held her up and gave her kisses all over her face. Kylie could hear her baby goos from her place at the bar and it was so darn cute, she wanted to hold the baby and give her kisses, too.

“They’re here for you.” Darren’s deep voice rumbled beside her, bringing her attention back to him.

“What?”

“That’s what they do. They take care of their own when one of them is hurting,” Darren explained.

“One of their own what? I’m not anyone’s old lady.” Her brows dipped in confusion.

“You belong to the Sons whether you’re with Tuck or not. You’ve been there for us and we’ll be there for you.” To Darren it all made sense. To Kylie, she still didn’t understand.

Darren turned on his barstool so that he was giving her his full attention. “Bellamy saw when I brought you home Saturday and the state you were in. She wanted to come over immediately to see what she could do to help. Race told her to give you a couple of days, then she could try make her approach. The thing about the old ladies is that they’re a tight group and more than likely, where you see one, you’ll see more.”

“I still don’t understand why they would want to help me. I mean, I appreciate what they did when they returned Tuck’s vehicle and brought me my clothes, but I don’t expect them to keep doing stuff for me.”

One side of his mouth kicked up. “That’s just it. They like you and consider you a friend. You don’t have to ask for help, they’ll just give it.”

Kylie turned on the barstool to face the room, watching as Race came from the back hallway and having spotted Bellamy, went straight to her for a kiss. The same with Trick and Lindsey. He was cute the way he placed his hand on her belly and smiled down at her. From the looks of things the club was currently experiencing a baby boom. Calliope had Harper in April. Lindsey was due in September and from what she’d overheard, Bellamy was pregnant, too, and due at the end of December. They all looked so happy and well loved. Was it wrong that Kylie was jealous?

Race turned to the room and shouted, “Church!” signaling it was time to start their meeting. He gave Bellamy another quick peck on the lips and swatted her butt as she walked away. Instead of joining the other women, she came to Kylie. “Come join us while the guys have their meeting.”

“Go on. Have a good time,” Darren encouraged as he stood to follow the rest of the men.

Kylie grabbed the soda she’d been drinking and followed Bellamy over to the couches. She smiled at everyone and returned their greetings before taking a seat on the couch opposite Lindsey and Calliope.

“Harper is so cute.” Kylie loved the outfit she was wearing. She was wearing a hot pink ruffled skirt that was adorable on her tiny bottom with a matching wide bow in her pretty black hair. She wore a black short-sleeved t-shirt that declared that she was “Daddy’s baby girl.” Seeing the way Jackson was around his daughter was enough to make any woman swoon. The big, bad biker was putty in his little girl’s tiny hand.

“I like your shirt.” Lindsey smiled and rubbed her stomach.

“Thanks. Darren got it for me. All my other shirts that had sayings on them burned in the fire.” This one read “Drinking before 10:00 AM makes you a pirate not an alcoholic”.

She eyed Kylie’s Sprite. “Guess you’re not a pirate today,” Lindsey teased.

Kylie wiggled her soda. “Not today. My stomach’s still messed up.”

“Have you been sick?” Bellamy asked.

“No. I thought I had a bug and I might have, but pile on everything I’ve been going through lately and I think my nerves are completely shot. Once things settle down, I’m sure I’ll be fine.”

“Have you gotten all your insurance stuff sorted?” Lindsey asked.

“Yeah. I got the check for my car. I just need to find time to go car shopping. I was thinking about asking Darren to go with me, but he’s done so much for me already I hate to ask. The insurance also sent me the money for my contents. I just got that this morning. As soon as the club tells me they’ve dealt with whoever started the fire, I’ll start looking for someplace to live and get out of Darren’s hair.”

“Darren is a sweet guy. Not big on talking, but he’s loyal to the club and their families. If he didn’t want you at his house, he wouldn’t have offered for you to stay there.” Calliope had Harper in her lap. She took her hands and was playing patty cake, earning more baby goos and giggles.

“What kind of place are you looking to move into?” Lindsey asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe something out of town, but not too far out.” She really didn’t want an apartment.

“We heard about what happened at Tuck’s this weekend. You want to talk about it?” Bellamy asked. She’d hitched a knee on the couch to better face Kylie.

“I don’t know.” She wasn’t sure talking about it would make her feel any better. But then again, having the women to talk to would spare Darren from having to listen to her.
