Jed laughed and entered the house. “That bad, huh?”
“You have no idea.” He checked down the hall, saw that her bedroom door was closed and released a sigh of relief. If he was lucky she would stay in there the rest of the night and he wouldn’t see her again until it was time to go to the doctor tomorrow morning. “You brought beer?”
“Yep. Thought you might need it.” Jed followed him to the kitchen and handed a beer to Tuck. They both twisted the tops off and took a drink.
Tuck studied his friend and asked, “You draw the short straw?”
Jed smiled wide and laughed. “Yeah. Someone had to brave the lion’s den and make sure you were still alive or if you’d succumbed to weakness and offed yourself.”
Tuck chuckled and shook his head. “Glad to see you, too, brother. More than you know.” He pulled out a chair at the table and took a seat, tipping his bottle toward the empty chair across from him. Jed took a seat then ran an assessing glance over Tuck.
“How’re you doing?” Jed’s serious tone meant the world to Tuck.
He shrugged a shoulder. “’Bout like you would expect. She’s constantly dragging up the past and telling me she loves me and wants to have a family with me. It’s all bullshit, but it wears on me, you know.”
“Yeah. I imagine it does. We heard what went down when Kylie showed up and found Taylor in bed with you.” Tuck frowned, wondering where he would have heard about it. “Darren lives next door to Race. Bellamy was outside when Darren got her home and sent Race to find out what was going on. Then the old ladies paid her a visit at the clubhouse.”
“Ah,” Tuck lifted a chin in understanding.
“Heard the old ladies were a little mad at you.”
“Great, just what I need, five more women mad at me.”
“Make that six.” Taylor entered the kitchen, heading straight for the refrigerator. Tuck tensed, but was happy to see she at least was dressed again. She pulled out a bottle of water and turned to face them. From the back you could barely tell she was pregnant except for her ass being a lot fuller. She wasn’t fat, just a lot curvier than she used to be.
Jed raised his brows in question to Tuck. He rolled his eyes and shook his head.
“What are you so mad at Tuck about?” Jed asked.
“She’s mad because I won’t fuck her,” Tuck proclaimed.
Taylor’s face flushed bright red. “I’m fucking horny because of these stupid pregnancy hormones. Since you won’t fuck me, maybe Jed will.”
“Oh, hell no,” Jed spat, his bottle suspended halfway to his mouth.
“Why not? You’ll fuck anything.”
“I only fuck females,” Jed clarified.
“Is it because I’m pregnant?” Taylor demanded.
Clearly she didn’t want it that bad or she wouldn’t be pissing of a possible solution to her hormone issue. Although, Tuck wouldn’t wish that on Jed.
“No, Taylor. I don’t fuck bitches. Especially if they fuck with Kylie.” Jed laid it out there for her, plain and simple.
The brothers had always hated Taylor, but put up with her because of Tuck. Since meeting Kylie, they’d all pulled her into the fold and declared her part of the Sons family. The way things were going, Tuck wondered if they’d pick Kylie over him if it came down to it.
The mention of Kylie’s name set her off. “I am so fucking sick of hearing that pathetic woman’s name!” she screeched. “And I’m tired of her fucking with my life!” She stomped out of the kitchen, but not before swiping everything off the island in a tantrum fit. Tuck’s keys, phone, wallet and a handful of change fell to the floor.
“See what I’m dealing with?” Tuck pointed his bottle down the hall.
“Why the fuck are you putting up with that shit? Dump her ass on her parents. They’ll either take care of her or they’ll set her up somewhere else. Either way, she’s out of your house and your life.” Jed didn’t get it.
“She’s only sticking around until I find out if it’s my son or not.”
“Son? You found out it’s going to be a boy?” Jed’s eyes rounded.
“Yeah. Last week when I took her to the E.R.”
