“Brace yourself, we’re in the accident’s location now.” He had to hack into a couple of building security cameras to get a better angle of the accident.
We draw in a deep breath each while we watch what’s about to go down. They did so well. They thought they were out of the clear, but the driver of the SUV had other plans. They must’ve figured out an alternative route. Because they came out of nowhere. Flew right into the passenger side of the car out of an alleyway. No wonder why they didn’t see it coming. We lost track of the SUV heading back into the gang territory.
“Cazzo!”I slam my hands on the desk in frustration.
“Hey, at least we know they are in the territory somewhere,” he tries to reassure me.
A deep chuckle escapes me. “Yeah, somewhere. How the fuck are we going to find them? We can’t just storm in there and start searching every building!”
He lifted his hands giving a small shrug. I gotta think of something. I can’t sit here waiting for an idea to pop out of thin air.
“Let’s call the guys,” I tell him.
Twenty minutes later we’re all talking trying to come up with ideas on how to get into the territory and start searching buildings.
“What if we set a trap, right at the entrance of the territory, and see if he falls for it?” Nico suggests.
I shake my head. “He’ll never go for that. If we try anything, he’ll kill them. I’m not stupid enough to risk either of them. She’ll never forgive me if I get Oscar killed.”
I make eye contact with Rett. His devilish side circled overhead. Itching to come out and play. I almost wanted to take pity on anyone that fell into line with him when it released. He was a force to be reckoned with, and I’m forever grateful to have him by my side.
My phone vibrated in my pocket, setting my body off in goosebumps. With a shaky hand, I reach into my pocket. I have a gut feeling who this is. Without looking at the name, I answer it.
“Where is she?” I spit out.
“Hold your horses. You need to listen to me.” I place him on speakerphone so all the guys can hear him. “Your lover is as well as expected, nice and tied up waiting for the show to start. Her companion not so much, but he’ll be fun to play with later.”
“Get to the point, motherfucker.”
“Ah, Ah. Who’s in charge here? I can hang up and you’ll never find her until I deliver her in a box. Are you ready to listen without interrupting me?”
I wait a moment to make sure he’s finished speaking. “Yes, now what is it you want?”
“Excellent. I want you. It’s simple.” Then he hangs up.
I throw my phone across the room. He didn’t give me anything! My chest quickly tightens with pain like someone is taking my heart and clamping it in a vise grip. I’m running out of time and Seth isn’t helping. How am I going to give myself if he didn’t give me a goddamn location?
“Lucca? Sit down, man.” Rett’s face comes into view.
I close my eyes tight and take a deep, cleansing breath. “I’m fine. We need to find that cunt now.” I open my eyes a little calmer.
“He mentioned something about a show. What was that about?” Antonio mentioned.
“Knowing him, it can’t be good. But like fuck, I’m letting you head in there alone,” Rett declared territorially.
“Let’s make a game plan for when he calls back. This way, we are prepared. I’m not going in without any of you,” I tell them.
I’ll be ready for anything this time. I can’t take any chances with Charlie on the line. I only wish we weren’t waiting for some psycho to call the shots.
I still haven’t heard anything from Seth, and we’re getting closer to twenty-four hours since he took them. I don’t even know if he’s taking care of them. Has he touched her? I’ll do worse than slice his fingers off if he had. I can feel my body heat just thinking of what I would do with him when I get my hands on him. Either way, he’s a dead man.
The guys have been busy gathering weapons; we’re keeping this between the four of us. I don’t need anyone else knowing what’s happening and a chance of it getting out. The less that they know the safer they will be. Some hero probably would go blazing in trying to find her to prove their worth to me. Like I would give a shit. It’s still not up to me. We’re all voted to the top of the food chain in the mafia.
My office door bursts open abruptly. Nico stands there huffing. He holds up one finger letting me know he needs a second before he can speak. All while I’m growing impatient.
“Okay… I’m good.” He heaves. “I have a message for you from Benny.”
Drawing my brows together I jerk my head back. Benny. What does this have to do with him?
