I come around the island giving Ada a kiss on the cheek, then moving to Charlie hauling her into a hug.
“Thank you. It’s nice to be spoiled,” I whisper into her ear. I grasp her chin with my finger and thumb. I turn her into a kiss.
“Ew Daddy, that’s gross.”
I pull away from Charlie letting out a small chuckle. “Is it now? You never complain when I give you kiss on the cheek.”
“That’s different Daddy, it’s not on the lips.” Her little face rumples with disgust.
“You’ll see when you’re much older, Adelaide, much, much older,” Charlie tells her. “In the meantime, let’s have some pie.”
Ada jumps up and down squealing. Charlie goes about the kitchen grabbing bowls and ice cream. When she catches me watching her, she sends me a wink.
“Have I told you lately how beautiful you are?”
“Mmm, not recently, refresh my memory for me.”
“Charlotte, I’ve seen no one more beautiful in the world than you.” I place my hands on her hips rubbing my thumbs along her hip bone.
“Smooth talker aren’t we. Well, I think you’re very handsome as well.” She rotates her head looking at me. I place a kiss at the corner of her mouth keeping it pg for Ada.
“Let’s eat before she goes crazy.”
“She’s been trying to eat it since we started making the thing.”
“Well, she is my child. We do like eating what’s good.” A blush washes over her cheeks.
We sit around the table eating our pie and ice cream talking about our day. Ada informs us that the little boy from school isn’t getting bullied as much. She’s taking the protector roll keeping an eye on him. Charlie also informed me she is headed back to work and that she’s moving back into her apartment. I’m pissed. I’ve grown attached to her being here. Every night she’s been in my bed, in my room. Walking around my house. I thought this was where she wanted to be. She’s been so kind and helpful with Adelaide. Maybe it’s too much too soon?
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, don’t worry about it.”
Charlie only stares at me. She held out her hand for me across the table. I take her small hand in mine. Noticing how well she fits so well with me. Like two puzzle pieces finally finding each other.
“Are you sure? I feel you’re holding back, is it because I’m going back to my place? I can read between the lines Lucca. I can tell that makes you pis—” She looks at Ada, “Makes you angry. I feel like I sorta just moved in without asking and it’s not right. I need to get back to my life and I feel you guys do, too.”
“That’s a bunch of bull and you know it. If I didn’t want you here, you would know it. So don’t even play that card with me.”
Ada must feel the tension rising because she slowly sneaks away from the table heading upstairs. While Charlie and I have a staring showdown. If she can’t figure out that I want her, guess I’ll spell it out for her.
“You’re mine Charlotte. If you haven’t figured that out yet, let me help you.” I make my way around the table stopping in front of her. “I want you to move in with me.” Grasping her nape, I pull her into me. Her eyes widen with my sudden proclamation.
“You can’t be serious, isn’t too soon?”
“Fuck, no. It’s never going to be too soon. Now get that pretty little ass of your upstairs and get naked.”
She shoots me a smirk, then rushes upstairs. I make sure to tuck Ada into bed, so we don’t have any interruptions. When I walk into our bedroom, Charlie is waiting for me on the bed on her knees naked.
“Oh Charlie, fuck me.”
“I plan too, but you're overly dressed Mr. Russo.”
I unbutton my dress shirt, one button at a time never taking my eyes off her. She adjusts herself ever so slightly. By the time I reach my waistband, I’m so hard it’s almost painful pressing against the material. Unsnapping my pants, Charlie lets out a moan.
“Tell me what you want, baby.”
“Everything, please Lucca. I need you so much.”
