He runs his hand in my hair, tugging a strand. “I’d love to see him try.” I jerk my head away from his hand ripping strands with him.
“Touch her again and I’ll gut you,” Oscar said, his voice held a savage edge to it.
Seth quickly moves away from me; I already know what’s coming. A loud smack sound followed by a spit hitting the ground. My poor grouch is getting beat up because of me.
“You son of a bitch, keep your hands off him. You pussy, can’t even fight like a man. Gotta fight someone with his hands tied.” Next thing I know my hair is yanked backwards, snapping my sore neck tight.
“Wanna fight me, girl?”
If it gets me untied, fuckin’ rights I wanna fight. “Bring it on asshole.”
“Chuck, what are you doing?” Oscar hissed at me.
“I got this.” That’s all I said when I felt the ropes on my wrists become free, then my ankles. As I was shakingly standing up, my body too weak from sitting for so long, an explosion could be heard in the distant. I freeze not knowing what to do. I really didn’t think of this plan very well now did I.
Without warning, Seth’s hand connects with my cheek. Snapping my head to the side. Bringing my hand to my cheek to help the sting, it’s warm to the touch. That dick. Lifting my leg hard I kick him in the family jewels.
I rush to Oscar, trying to work his ropes. I lock eyes with Oscar. Now that I can see him in more light, I can see all the damage to his beautiful face. His left eye is swollen shut, his glasses are missing, his lip is bleeding from the hit that Seth gave him. His hand is inflamed from his break. Doesn’t help that the ropes restrict the blood flow. I close my eyes, so I don’t let my tears fall.
“Chuck, just leave me. Go find some help or a phone. Anything. Please.”
“I’m not leaving you. Are you kidding me?”
“Please, he’s not going to be down for long. It’s only a nut shot.”
I didn’t have time to reply, I’m ripped away being tossed across the room. The back of my head bounces off the wall causing my vision to become blurry instantly. I reach up to touch my head, wincing in pain but luckily not feeling any thick liquid in my hair.
“What do you say princess? Did you have enough fun yet?”
“No,” I croak out.
“Chuck, stop this,” Oscar pleads with me.
I’m not done until he’s free. Using the wall, I lift myself up on quivering knees. I look in Seth’s direction a grin springs to my lips. One way or another, he’s going down.
The door to the room crashes open. The silhouette that stands there is one I’m all too familiar with, one that I’m glad to see right about now. Lucca stands there radiating power, demanding everyone to take notice of him. Take notice I do. I’m staring so hard I don’t see what’s about to happen.
Seth moves so fast he locks my neck into his arm. Holding my back against his chest, every time I fight him, he tightens his hold, cutting off my air supply. I can feel a barrel of a gun press into my back, causing me to freeze even more.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in. So glad you can join us,” Seth says with so much excitement, I’m surprised he didn’t get a hard-on.
“I’m sure you are. I was waiting around for you to call me back. When you didn’t, I started to get worried. I don’t enjoy making house calls. I’m disappointed in you.” Lucca came back with a sarcastic remark.
“Now, don’t be like that. I was gonna call. I just had to get my lady here ready.” He tugs me backwards, making me walk to the other side of the room.
“They leave, and we finish this. That’s how this goes down, or I blow a hole in your skull right now.”
“You wouldn’t risk your treasure now, would you?”
Lucca gives me a sly smile. Letting me know he would risk anything to keep me safe. I can only hope it isn’t blowing some dudes’ head off behind me. Lucca steps into the musky, stale room. Seth’s arm tightens around my neck more. I grip his arm digging my nails hoping with enough pressure he’ll release me. The pressure from his arm is beginning to cut the air flow off. When stars appear, he lets up. I take a large gulp of air.
“See what I can do to her, move any closer and she’s dead. I’m not playing around anymore.” He aims his gun at Lucca.
Lucca holds his hands up. “What do you want from me? I’m already begging.”
“An exchange, you for them. That’s all.” Seth’s breath warm on my neck, the chill of his words resonating deep.
“Lucca, don’t. I’m not worth it. Take Oscar and run.” I plead with him.
