The drive into the gang’s territory is somber. Rett’s driving, Antonio’s in the passenger seat watching the CCTV cameras on his laptop. While Nico and I are in the backseat. Twisting my ring around, I try to think how this night will pan out. If only I knew how it would go.
“Okay, we’re meeting Benny here. He should be here in ten.” Antonio informs everyone.
“Still think we can trust this source?” Rett tilted his head and met my eyes in the rear-view mirror.
“If he isn’t trustworthy, he better pray then shouldn’t he.” Letting a sly grin settle over my lips.
By the time Benny shows up, I’m itching to go. I’ve waited long enough, and this neighbourhood is making me break out in hives.
“All right, my source told me he is currently staying at the old hole. He hasn’t left since yesterday. My guess is that’s where they are. It’s an old biker bar he shut down years ago. It would be the prime location the basement has no access. Your only entrance is the back door or front.”
“That doesn’t give us much element of surprise now does it?” Nico addressed.
“No, so I would suggest creating a distraction up the street at one of his newer bars. It wouldn’t be suspicious that way.” Benny threw out there. Pointing in the bar’s direction.
That’s looking like our only plan. I hope it works; with that, he departs. I don’t need him getting killed for being seen with us.
“I packed explosives.” Nico shrugs.
“Of fucking course. You little pyro,” Antonio nudges him. Then giving him a small, flirty smile.
“What can I say? A little fire now and again is what we need.” Sending him a wink, then he grabs his bag from the car.
The sexual tension between those two is crazy. It’s always been like this even when we were growing up. Now it’s even worse that they don’t hide it. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against it, but come on. There is a time and place for it and currently not the place or time. I’m under enough stress. I don’t need to watch them practically give each other googly eyes at one another.
“Let’s get this over with. Once the explosion goes off, we get into the old hole. Chances are Seth will come running out to check on it. That’s when we’ll strike. Do everything outside of the building. I’m not risking shit inside.”
Nico nods, then gets his gear ready. I’m not an expert in the explosives, so I honestly couldn’t tell ya what the fuck he does. All I know is in the end, a massive boom is heard. That’s all-what matters. Rett and Nico head up to the bar and lay out the explosives while Tony and I stay back. The streets are roaming with gang members, but so far none have noticed us hiding in the dark alleyway. Twenty minutes later Rett and Nico return with massive grins on their faces.
“It’s set. It’ll go off in ten. Hold on to your butts. It’s gonna get extremely loud soon.” Nico looks like a kid in a candy store right now.
“Positions boys, let’s end this.”
We all huddle at the entrance of the alley when Nico counts down from ten. As soon as he said one, the loudest boom erupted. People started pouring out of the bar, shouting and coughing. It was chaos and a complete distraction. My eyes swing toward the older bar, waiting for anyone to exit. When no one comes out, I panic.
It wasn’t until I seen a figure run from behind the building; I knew our plan worked. We take off across the street when we near the building. I pull my gun out. Rett quickly makes work and rushes past me, barreling into this cunt. He tackles him to the ground; his devil has come out to play. It isn’t until a second one comes running out of the building that shit is about to get real.
“I’ve got this one, go get Charlie,” Nico calls out, as he runs into the cunt, throwing his fist into his face.
I leave them to play and find the back entrance. If Seth hasn’t come out yet, I don’t think he will. Guess I’ll be taking the fight to him. Pushing the door opened, I cock my head to listen, but I don’t hear a sound. The bar is definitely old. Wooden planks covered the walls. The bar area held old remnants when patrons would visit regularly. Broken glass still littered the floor.
“I don’t like this Lucca.” Tony’s voice sounds somber from behind me.
“Same, let’s just find this fucking basement.” There is a hallway left of the back door, that I take off to. The thought of Seth lurking around here sends a chill down my spine. Cracking the door open, it sends out a low creaking sound. I wait a moment listening again. Step by step I take the stairs, with Tony following me. The basement is larger than I thought it would be. There is a large room right off the stairs, with a small hallway. Charlie is down there I know it. Where else would she be down here?
“He’s down here. The question is where?” I tell Antonio. I know we should wait for Rett and Nico to get here, but I can’t.
I need her and I need her now.
The door bursts open suddenly bringing our conversation to an end. The light switched on. I take a glimpse at Oscar. He’s looking a little pale, pearls of sweat are beading on his forehead. A shadow passes behind me. I’m ready for this asshole, if he thinks I’m surrendering he’s fucking mistaken.
“Well, princess I talked to your lover. He’s ready to give himself up for you. Isn’t that lovely?”
“You’re full of shit. He would never do that.”
He let out that laugh of his. “Oh, that’s where you’re mistaken. I can’t wait to play with him.”
“You’re a sick motherfucker. Lucca will gut you alive.”
