They only stand there, not saying anything only pissing me off more.

“For fuck’s sake talk to me, before I blow your brains out.”

“Why do you always have to be such a cocky son of a bitch? Did your mother not love you enough?”

Seth Atwood. “We both know your mother was the fucking devil.”

“No need to bring my mama up. Why you in my area, Lucca?”

We both know why I’m here. I’m going to end this right here and now. Taking aim to his head.

He tsk’s at me. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you. You see. I’ve been keeping tabs on that hottie of yours still. A little birdie has told me she left the house today. You wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to her now, would you?”

She wouldn’t fucking leave the house, she knows better. I trust her more than this asshole.

“You expect me to believe you?”

He half shrugs. “Do what you want. I’m leaving.”

He backs away from me while I think about Charlie. He couldn’t have taken her. I left her home with Anna and Oscar. They would’ve called if anything happened. Without thinking, I run back to the SUV.

“What happened?” Rett asked.

I reach for my phone, scrambling to pull up Charlie’s name.

“Have any of you heard from Oscar today?”

“No, why?” Antonio answered, looking alarmed, “But that doesn’t mean anything.”

“It does!” I roar, “That fucker, just said he has Charlie. So, get a hold of someone!”

I finally find her number and hit send. The sound of ringing is all I get until her voicemail picks up. I keep calling always getting her fucking voicemail. I need to prove Seth wrong. There’s no way he’s right.

I need to get out of this house.

I need to see my dad; it’s been a while and I’m getting worried about him. I have some questions I need answered from that old man. Like that date he had. Who the hell was that woman? The only shitty thing that’s stopping me is Lucca. I can’t really ask him outright, so I need someone that will go behind his back. But the question is how and will someone risk it. I can only think of one person who will risk his life for me and go behind Lucca’s back.Hopefully.

Me:Wanna head to my dad’s with me?

Oscar:Is that a good idea? Are you even allowed to leave the house?

Me:With you, I’m sure it won’t be a problem. Besides were only going to Dads. He has guns.

Oscar:Chuck…

Me:Grouch…

Oscar:Fine. But if we get in trouble, you’re taking the heat.

Me:Done!

I can always rely on him. Now to make sure Dad’s going to be home and alone this time. Clearly, surprise visits are out of the question. I dial him only to get sent to voicemail. Rude. I leave him a message to let him know that I’m coming over for a visit.

When Oscar showed up, he doesn’t look so impressed with me. Shaking his head at me I could only shrug my shoulders.

“Hey man, I can’t stay in this house any longer. Plus, I need to see my old man. Who knows when something will happen to him.”

“I get that, Chuck, I really do. Can’t you see how dangerous it is out there for you right now. Someone could be watching the house waiting for you to leave.”
