“The sooner I show you off as my fiancée the sooner we can end this charade,” Parker admits, taking a step back.
My heart sinks at his words and I shudder. He meant taking me out as part of the charade. I should know better. I was letting my heart get involved in a matter it had no business getting involved in.
“That should work, where are you going to take me?”
“It will be a surprise but wear a pretty dress,” Parker winks at me.
We stand there smiling at each other. I never realized that Parker has a crooked tooth in his mouth. He always looks so perfect and put together but that one tooth is out of place yet fits him perfectly.
I swallow.
My heart is not ready for another bout of heartache but just looking at a grinning Parker is turning my insides to goo. Maybe I should not have agreed to this but there is no turning back now. Especially with him looking at me like that.
“I’m not sure I have anything nice enough to be seen on your arm with,” I flirt back.
What am I doing? Flirting with my boss and now fake fiancée. I was just setting myself up for heartbreak.
Parker leans his head back and a booming laugh fills the room.
Wetness forms at my core with the sound but I refrain from rubbing my legs together.
“A pretty dress can be arranged. It will be ready for you tomorrow morning,” Parker says as he lowers his gaze back to me.
I swear his eyes shot to my lips before returning to my eyes but I refuse to focus on that.
“I should go and prepare for tomorrow then,” I say with a flip of my hair as I turn.
“I’ll see you tomorrow… Fiancée,” Parker breathes out.
I stop and stand still for a moment before letting out a fake chuckle and exiting Parker’s office.
Once outside, I lean back against the door.
I can feel that my underwear is soaked and shame rushes over me. Parker is obviously attractive and I used to have a crush on him but I refuse to let that crush come back. It will just end up with me being heartbroken all over again and I am too old to let a childhood crush ruin me.
Standing straight, I head to my room to shower knowing that I won’t touch myself, no matter how much I want to relieve the tension building inside of me.
Tomorrow is a new day and I don’t think I can face Parker if I got off to him in the shower.
Chapter 8 - Parker Madison
“I need a sitter,” I say into the phone to Shantal Magnuson. She is the one I usually contact about a nanny.
“Do you not have a nanny Mr. Madison?”
I do not appreciate her questioning but she does have a point.
“I do but she needs the night off,” I lie through my teeth. If the agency finds out that she is no longer my nanny but a fiancée I am not sure what would happen.
“We do have a Mrs. Zin who is available on such short notice. She is an older woman but she has a deep love for children. What time do you need her at your place?” Shantal asks.
Glancing at the clock I speak, “A little before seven.”
“Very well, Mrs. Zin will be there at six fourty five.”
We finish the rest of the arrangements as I head out the door and go shopping during my lunch break. It only takes me a few stores before I find a dress that will look stunning on Cam, though anything will look great on her. She has the most perfect figure and her ass, wow.
A shiver runs down my spine at the thought of Cam’s perfect body.
