The further we walk in, the more I see the bar area and take Wren there so I can get us both a drink. My hand travels down her back as we stand at the bar until it's on her peachy ass, and I give it a small squeeze before I speak.

“What do you want?”

“Any non-alcoholic cocktail, baby, thank you.”

When the waitress shows up, I order our drinks when I suddenly hear Milo's voice behind me.

“Arlo, mother-fucking Hayes!”

I turn around with a small smirk on my lips, and I slap my hand into his before we embrace with a pat on the back.

“It's good to see you here! I haven't seen you in a while. How are you, my brother?”

“I've been good.”

He gives me a small nod, and when Wren turns around, his eyes immediately go to her. A big smile forms on his face before his eyes move back to mine.

“This must be Wren, right?”

I side-eye as she extends her hand gracefully, with a big beaming smile, like the beautiful, classy woman she is, and he takes it in his.

“You must be Milo?”

He offers her a slight nod, evidently taken aback by how gorgeous she is, as are all the fucking men when she's around.

Wren exudes beauty and class, and she draws a lot of male attention without even trying, but she's my fucking girl. I have to force myself not to kill people every day because of the way they look at what's mine.

“That's right, it's really nice to meet you, Wren.”

“You too, and happy birthday! You've done a great job with this place; it's amazing.”

He smiles down at her, and when I notice our drinks are served, I give hers to her while Milo speaks.

“You guys should come and join us at my table tonight.”

“I give him a nod before we follow behind him.”

We soon arrive at a large table where a few other people I don't recognize are sitting, and when I take a seat, Wren, of course, chooses to use me as a fucking chair, which I love.

We all talk for a while and me and Milo catch up when suddenly I hear a voice saying my name.

“Arlo? Wren?”

My eyes dart to Izzy, whom I haven't seen since I killed Savannah's dad, my dad, and Cash, and as she approaches us, I sigh before glancing away, dragging Wren into me a little more.

“How are you guys?”

She takes the chair beside Milo, opposite us, and my eyes meet his as Wren responds to Izzy, completely oblivious to what this girl is capable of.

“We've been good, Izzy; it's good to see you. How have you been?”

Milo looks as though he has no idea what the fuck is going on, but he can probably tell by my clenched jaw that I'm uncomfortable. We all grew up together; Izzy, Savannah, and Bridget were a few years younger, but after we all left school, Milo kept out of the criminal world and went on with his life in an honest way.

We stayed in contact regardless, and I suppose he wouldn't have known to not invite certain people. I didn't think he was still in contact with Izzy, though, and now I'm left wondering who the fuck else is going to be here tonight that I despise.

“Yeah, I'm good. Thank you, Wren.”

Her eyes move to mine, and I just stare at her, staying expressionless and silent.
