Yeah, he was not only threatening me—but my boss and her entire business.
Which meant a lot of girls would be out of a job if I screwed this up.
He made himself clear.
If I didn’t listen, I’d get Ilona and everyone associated busted.
Either I saved myself or my boss.
There really was no choice.
I took a deep breath before I walked out, and Nick followed close behind. “Over here,” he said, guiding my elbow with his hand. I shirked it off, not wanting to feel his touch.
The locks beeped, and he opened my door for me. I slid inside, not glancing up at him at all as he shut my door.
When he was in and buckled, I looked out the front window. “Nick, this is—”
But he cut me off immediately. “Not one fucking word!” he screamed at me, making me jump and clutch my purse. I felt queasy and sick, wondering why he’d shown up to the hotel.
And he’d seen me with Javi.
Kissing Javi.
Knowing that I’d just finished a session with Javi.
I didn’t look at him—not once the entire drive.
My heart started beating even faster when I clued into the fact that he was taking me to his place.
The last place in the world I wanted to be.
Nobody to hear us fight—or whatever Nick had planned.
He pulled into his driveway, and I got out, storming up to the front door. I stood to the side while he unlocked it, letting me in first.
“Upstairs,” he said in a raspy voice, his hand on my lower back pushing me forward.
Great.
He was taking me to his room.
My stomach sunk, and my head swam with worry about being alone with this man.
Obviously, he wanted more than to just have a quick chat.
Sure enough, we ended up at his bedroom door. My feet refused to move forward, so he pushed me—not gently, but not forcefully.
He slammed the door behind him and instead of jumping, I spun around on him. “What do you think you’re doing? You can’t just kidnap people and make them do whatever you want!”
A sly smile played on his lips. “Wanna bet?” he said, stalking toward me.
I stutter stepped, nearly swallowing my own tongue as I moved away from him as quickly as I could. “You’re crazy,” I muttered, nearly tripping in my heels.
The sardonic laugh that burst out of him made my blood run cold. “You’re finally beginning to understand.”
“What do you want from me? One last goodbye fuck? Fine, great,” I said, dropping my purse on the floor. “I don’t know how much I have left in me, but you’re welcome to it. Just remember, you promised that you’d never hurt me,” I reminded him of his promise, hoping to break him out of his mania.
Nick’s eyes flared and he walked toward me even faster now. I backed up until my back hit his velvety curtains. “You spread you legs for another man, and you automatically think I’ll leave? Because I won’t. You could fuck a hundred guys, and I wouldn’t leave you.”
