His pace was picking up and I was breathless.

“Yes, Danny!” I whispered, wanting to scream in ecstasy.

He began rubbing my clit and fucking me at the same time, I knew he was close, making me even hotter and ready to climax again. Before I knew it, he was releasing himself into me and I couldn’t hold back anymore as I orgasmed a second time. I let out a small scream and he put a finger into my mouth to help keep me quiet.

His body trembled and he fell on top of me.

We lay silent for a minute and then heard the group in the kitchen talking and Claire calling for me.

We frantically looked at each other hurrying around the room, me grabbing my towel and Daniel collecting his tank top, polo and jeans.

I wrapped the towel around myself, and Danny finished just as Claire opened the door.

“What are you doing in here, Danny?” Claire came into view in an apron. “Are you giving her grief again? Was the ride over not enough?”

I had given Claire the full rundown of everything that had happened, but I had left out the office drama because there was no need for her to know all of that.

“Out,” she sounded like a mother scolding her child. “Dinner is ready, and I need you to help Seb set the table.”

Daniel held my stare for a moment longer. I had expected to see some semblance of regret in his eyes, but there was nothing but that same desire and restraint that had been at odds with each other.

He turned to face his sister, “I’m not your slave, Claire. But seeing as you are carrying my next nephew or niece, I will help.”

His sister rolled her eyes and whacked him in the back as he left the room. When he was gone, she turned to me with her mouth wide open.

“What did I just walk into?”

I shook my head, still trying to wrap my head around what that had been. “I wouldn’t even know where to start.”

Chapter twenty-one

Dinner Conversations

Daniel

Everyonewastalkingandlaughing amongst each other while my eyes were focused on the two people in front of me. Arthur had to head back to Braven, and I hoped that he would take Xander with him. But sadly, he stayed behind.

His mere presence was enough of an eye-sore.

It was not lost on me what had happened in her room. I had only had her this once, and I had already lost my shit. My entire body was short-circuited, and a rush of electricity I had never felt in my entire life flowed through every muscle.

I was alive in ways I had never been before.

I stared at Xander and Selena from over the rim of my wine glass. He leaned in toward her and whispered something into her ear, making her laugh.

What the hell was so funny? I had spoken to the guy and even I knew that he wasn’t funny at all. He was rather boring if you asked me. I had met cardboard with a far better personality than him.

What the hell was going on with me?

I sounded like a fucking jealous boyfriend.

I had been off my balance since the whole client incident. I had hurt her. I saw it in her eyes.

“So, Danny,” my sister drew me out of my own head, “how is Chicago?”

I knew what she was doing. I heard it in the tone of her voice.

“It’s fine,” I clipped.
