Something I could touch whenever I wanted.
Something I could smell when I ... missed her scent.
I didn’t know what was happening.
Where these feelings were coming from.
But they were there.
I gripped the back of her head, pulling our faces together. “Now I’ll be able to get a whiff of you anytime I want. So, no, you’re not getting it back.”
She laughed. “Ruthless.”
“Maybe when I get that second shot, we can negotiate.”
“I’m up for that challenge.” Her hand went to my chest softly. Our stares locked, her holding my gaze like she didn’t want to let it go. And then she rose on her toes, her mouth eventually reaching mine, where she gave me the gentlest kiss. “Ticktock.”
The moment her mouth and hand left me, I looked down to pull off the condom and zip myself up, and before I could say another word, she was gone.
CHAPTER FIVE
Me:Love, I can’t get you out of my head, which means I’m ready for that second shot with you. But, this time, I want the mask off. I want to see your whole face. I want to see what you look like while I’m making you scream.
SaarasLove:Hiiiii.
SaarasLove:Hottest text award goes to: youuuuu.
Me:Is that a yes?
SaarasLove:Mr.Boston, it sounds like you’ve missed me.
Me:I had a good time the other night, so yes, I’ve missed you. And, like I said, I’ve thought about you a lot.
SaarasLove:Just curious, if I gave you another fifteen minutes, what would you do to me?
Me:Maybe I would spend every one of those minutes with my face between your legs. You seemed to really enjoy that. Or maybe I’d flip you around and point your ass up in the air and start there. Or maybe I’d spend every one of those seconds just talking to you, gazing into your eyes, learning, listening.
Me:Which would you enjoy more?
SaarasLove:Whoa. That’s a tough one.
Me:Notice, you didn’t say no...
Me:Give me a date, Love. How about sometime this week?
SaarasLove:You’re going to think I’m playing hard to get. I swear I’m not—even though that does sound like fun—I just can’t hang this week. I’m traveling for work, I’m juggling class and homework. I’ve reached the overwhelmed stage with all of that.
Me:I’m calling you. Pick up.
SaarasLove:You mean through the app?
The call feature had been part of our beta testing and had launched with the app. Since our emphasis was always on security and anonymity, we thought this would be an extremely popular element among users. Users wouldn’t have to give out their phone numbers, and if things didn’t go well with the person they Hooked, it was one less piece of personal information they had.
Rather than typing a response, I clicked on the “Phone” icon and waited for the call to connect.
“Wow,” she said when she answered, “you don’t waste any time, do you, Mr.Boston?”
“Not when I want something as badly as I want you.”
