“She’s excited to meet you.” I watch as tears slide down Nova’s cheeks and for once I know they are happy tears.
“You finally know who you are, mamas,” I tell her. Cass pulls her into his side, holding her close.
“We know who you all are,” Nicco says, smirking.
“So, what, you did a background check on us?” Jordy asks.
“Yes, but we dove much deeper than a simple background check, we do our jobs thoroughly,” he tells us.
“Sebastian,” he says my name with a slight edge, and I swallow the lump in my throat, suddenly it feels dry.
“You were never a Hale, never have been. Your parents stole you in the middle of the night after killing your real parents.” I nod, understanding dawning on me, but then I realize I still don't know who I am.
“Who am I?” I ask him.
Suddenly a car pulls up. Nicco eyes me before he too looks over his shoulder at the car.
“You had a brother who escaped,” he says.
“Your last name is Sartorio.”
I'm Italian? Holy shit.
Eyeing the car with trepidation, my heart begins to beat rapidly as the door opens.
“You found him?” I ask.
“Found him.” Nicco smiles. “He works for me.”
A man walks toward us, and it’s only when I hear, “Holy fuck,” behind me, that I realize how similar we are.
Approaching us, he comes to a stop inches in front of me. “Sebastian, meet Nickolas, your brother,” Nicco says.
“H-h-how,” I stutter.
“Hey, little brother,” Nickolas says, smiling.
By the timeBass has finished speaking to his brother, I’m completely exhausted. Yawning, King cocks his head looking at me, “You okay, princess?”
I nod, closing my eyes. “Just tired. It’s been a long day.” My eyes shoot open the second Miller’s face comes across my eyelids. Remembering his evil grin, the madness he was going through, what he’d planned to do to me.
Placing his hand on my thigh, King squeezes it gently, then begins rubbing his thumb in circles, sensing the sudden change in my body. I was trapped in the memories of what happened, I could still feel him, smell him. Turning my face up, I think of the way his tongue felt on my cheek as he licked me.
“Hey.” King grips my face with his palms. “You’re safe,” he reassures me.
Was I really? Carter was still out there, he still wanted revenge, he’d stop at nothing if it meant destroying me for what my father did.
Cass sits down beside me, pulling me into his side and wrapping his arm around me.
I rest my head on his shoulder. “Are we going to lose him?”
“Nah.” Cass grins down at me.
As if sensing my inner turmoil, Bass looks over to me and smiles. Lifting his hand in a wave, he nods at his brother then walks toward us.
Bass kneels in front of me, brushing his fingers across my cheek.
“You ready to go home, mamas?”
