“My sister-in-law,” he says.

Against my better judgment, I drop the gun. He grins when I do. “Who the fuck are you?” I snap.

Holding his hand out the man murmurs, “I’m Jacob Kipling, nice to meet you, Cassius Alston.” His hand is firm in mine before he pulls me toward him, holding me hostage against his chest. In seconds he has the knife to my throat and just when I think he’s going to slit my throat he taps my cheek with the blade and lowers it, putting it away before he sets me free. “Word of advice, Cassius, don't toy with a killer.” He grins, then clicks his fingers before two other guys come from nowhere putting away their own weapons, one of them looks similar to me, blond, blue eyes, and around my age. The other looks slightly younger but both look as deadly as the man who introduced himself as Jacob.

He nods toward the first guy. “Two of my boys, Phoenix,” and then toward the younger of the two, “and Matteo.”

“Told you he wouldn’t,” the younger one says, chuckling.

“Who the fuck are you?” I hiss through clenched teeth.

“My boy, we’re the Kiplings, and we’re here to take back our family.”

Nova, he means Nova.

Who the fuck is she really?

He had nothing,he was bluffing, Commissioner Jackon knew full well I hadn’t killed my father and all that came to light the second my father walked into the room with a prominent smile on his face.

“Hello, Sebastian,” he says, taking a seat in front of me.

My wrists were handcuffed in front of me so there was no way of defending myself if he tried anything. I wasn’t sure where they’d put King or if he was just another charade in their sick, twisted game.

“Your mother and I have been worried. We stopped by the old place and when there was no sight of you for the last few days we began to grow concerned.” I hold in the scoff begging to rip from my throat.

“Seems that Cohen girl has you all wrapped up, fine little thing she’s grown into.” I flinch forward ready to rip my father apart.

He chuckles darkly, wetting his lips, he stands coming toward me. Grabbing a fistful of my hair he reefs it back exposing my neck.

“I’d love to see you try, son,” he growls into my ear.

“You always had a soft spot for her, both you and Mack seemed to be smitten with her, even after Nathan tried to expose Santonio for who he was and then forced you all to bury his body you never told her the truth, did you? Even after everything, tell me Sebastain have you finally told her the truth? Have you told her everything?” He glares down at me.

Dropping my eyes to the table, my fathers chuckle echoes through the room.

“Tell me, Sebastian. Did you tell her everything?” he growls, raising an eyebrow at me.

“Did you tell them everything?” I shake my head because how could I? I’d lied my entire life, nothing I did now would make up for the lies, they’d be better off without me.

“I told them to let yourfriendgo.” The way he says friend makes me wonder what he knows about King.

“I want to know, Sebastian,” he murmurs softly.

“How much are you willing to sacrifice to keep them alive?”

“Everything,” I growl through clenched teeth.

“We end this now, you understand?” my father barks, forcing my head down.

Nodding, I wait, he grips my shoulder, forcing his fingers to dig into my skin. I control my breathing so as not to show emotion, my father hates weakness.

“I thought I raised you better, Sebastian.” He swallows, growling in my ear. “You weren’t supposed to fall in love with her.” I press my lips together, hating he’s this close to me, that he forced me out just to show how powerful he is.

“I shouldn’t have taken Santonio’s offer, but she was worth every penny. With him gone, I’ll be sure to get a nice price for her again.” I turn my entire body toward him lifting my fist ready. He slams my head down onto the table, twisting my wrist so the cuff digs into my skin, it begins to cut me before I even get close.

My father holds me down on the table as he leans in close whispering,

“You forget who you both belong to, Sebastian.”
