"I'll do it for you too, Mom. We can have it finished in a couple of weeks. Before Christmas we can have the addition built and the appliances installed."

"Let me think about it."

He laughed. "Fair enough."

She pulled a handkerchief from her deerskin coat pocket. "I finished this last night. I think it turned out stunningly well."

She unwrapped Maya's wedding band. The scalloped edge would fit tightly to the lace edge on her engagement ring. The diamonds wrapped all around the band, so no matter which way she looked at it, it would sparkle.

"It's gorgeous, Mom." He kissed her temple and stared at the ring he'd put on his bride in a couple of hours.

"Also, the residents are lining up to vote."

"Thanks, Mom. Did you vote yet?"

She smiled. "I'm going right now, then I'll bathe and get ready for your wedding. I just wish I had the time to make a proper wedding cake."

He hugged her. "Maya wanted pumpkin pie. Traditional Thanksgiving. We're so blessed, this will be perfect."

Her lips curved up in a smile. "I'm so happy for you, Jasiah."

"Thanks, Mom."

She waved her hand around. "I'm going to vote for my son to be president."

He laughed as she left his cabin, a beautiful smile on her face.

Jasiah stared at the wedding band for a long time. Heaving out a deep breath, he turned to bathe and get ready for today.

Tires crunching on the road caught his attention. He'd been sitting on the back porch, looking out over the mountains and valley below. Tomorrow he and his bride would have a cup of coffee together as the first day of the rest of their lives began.

He stepped into the cabin, checked his tie in the mirror, smoothed his hair and took a deep breath. He stepped onto the front porch and surveyed the area as the cars parked. They'd all come up here and he was proud they'd all be here to celebrate all today brought.

He sauntered across the common area, which had been transformed with something called, dinghy lights. One of the women found them in town and was so excited as the men hung them on poles. They crisscrossed the common area, lighting it up as the sun went down. He saw Jax exit a vehicle as Dodge held her arm. She smiled up at Dodge and he kissed her lips. Jasiah smiled as he watched them.

Dodge then moved to the back of the SUV and opened the door. Maya stepped out looking more than stunning. She was absolutely the most beautiful woman in the world. Her dark hair shone in the lights, it billowed out around her shoulders in curls. Her white dress billowed out like a cloud of soft material, and stopped at her calves. She wore white heels which made her look taller. Her shoulders were exposed, and the dress crossed between her breasts in a 'V' shape. She was absolutely exquisite.

His mom came to stand next to him. She gasped. "My goodness she's stunning."

"I agree."

Maya's smile was radiant as she slowly walked toward him. Her eyes never left his. She carried a bouquet of white roses and the gold band on her left hand glinted in the lights.

She stood before him, radiant and smiling, and the breath left his body.

He finally managed to say, "You are perfection."

She laughed. "I was going to say the same about you. I've never seen you in a tie."

People assembled around the common area, and Pastor Richards stepped forward and asked, "Are you ready?"

"Yes." His voice cracked, but he nodded to confirm. He cleared his throat, "Yes."

Maya laughed. "Yes. I'm ready."

They said their vows before family and friends. He made Maya his wife, and he couldn't remember a day he'd ever been happier. The rings on her finger glittered all night. Every time he glanced at her, she smiled brighter.

The food was plentiful, they bowed their heads as Paster Richards said the prayer before they ate and they celebrated.
