Snapping me out of my thoughts, the guards shout, "Stand back inmate," at me. I step backwards thinking if they spoke to me this way outside of these walls I would have shot them through the head already. I count in my head to ten and wait for them to tell me to follow.
“This way Mr Salvatore, you'll soon be a free man again," the guard calls.
I follow them out of the pod and through into the office where my lawyer, Stephanie Lewis, awaits me. "Good to see you Mr Salvatore, we have a few things to sign and I have brought the clothes your associates gave me for you to change into," she acknowledges, dipping her head.
"Thank you Miss Lewis, I appreciate your hard work," I praise as she hands me a suit bag. I cannot wait to strip these awful clothes off and slip into my Brioni suit. I'd strip down now if I didn't think Miss Lewis would melt in a puddle and not be able to continue her job. I've only been imagining one woman I want to be completely naked with, with her lips around my cock for the last ten days, and it hasn’t been my lawyer. So politely I ask for a private place to change my clothes.
Stephanie points to the room attached and says, "You'll find a washroom with a single shower through there. I took the liberty of stocking it with toiletries."
"Thanks, I'll be back." I nod at her and excuse myself to the washroom. I wash quickly and redress, this suit feels amazing. I am starting to feel like my old self already as I look in the mirror. I straighten my tie and give myself a final once over before strolling into the room and taking a seat next to Miss Lewis. She shows me where to sign and explains the conditions of my release. Of course I don’t agree with them but I sign the dotted line regardless.
"I think that is everything Mr Salvatore, you are a free man. I will walk you out and then process these papers." Stephanie leads the way out of the prison and gives me a bag of belongings that I brought with me when I first arrived here.
As I walk down the steps I see a red Lamborghini waiting for me. The only person I know who would think it's a good idea to pick me up from lock up in a Lamborghini is my brother, Cole.
“Fratello,” Cole sighs as we embrace for the first time in almost nineteen months.
“Good to see you, let’s get out of here,” I admit, eager to get as far away from here as possible.
“Here you go,” Cole says, moving to the passenger side and chucking the keys to me.
"You must have missed me if you are collecting me and letting me drive your favorite car brother."
"There is nothing I wouldn't do for you brother," he states. I know it to be true as I feel the same.
"Let's get going then." I agree, sliding into the driver's seat as Cole settles into the passenger seat. The roar of the engine makes me smile. Cole hands me a pair of sunglasses and I spin the back wheels as we leave the prison in the rearview mirror.
After a ten minute drive in comfortable silence, I refuse to wait any longer, "Anything to fill me in about the business?"
"Same as last time I spoke to you. Dimitri is trying to pull the wool over our eyes, I don't trust him and I think we should watch him carefully but other than that it's all good," he answers, with no hint of emotion in his tone.
"What about Lucille Holland? Did Linc do any more digging?" I question.
"Well, fratello, you'd have to quiz Lincoln about that, you know I'm the watcher not the researcher," Cole says with an underlying note in his voice.
"As long as you're only watching brother," I warn.
“You never did like sharing your toys," Cole remarks. I glare at him knowing he's just trying to tease me but I still fight the feeling that there’s something I'm missing. Finally we are on the highway and I put my foot down on the gas and feel the full speed of this beautiful car, feeling free for the first time in so long.
"Shall we get breakfast? I haven't had pancakes for such a long time," I ask Cole.
"Anything you want brother, you want a hooker to join us? I can call Cherry, she was always eager for your cock, she could suck you off while you eat." Cole says with a chuckle. The trouble is if I said yes, I know he'd make it happen, and I don't want anyone but la mia Luce.
"The pancakes will do for now Cole." Breakfast first, then I'll need to get back to business and hopefully the pleasure that is Lucille Holland.
We pull up at a place called Kim's Diner. This is where, as boys, me and Linc would take Cole for pancakes when we wanted to escape our fathers. I park the car as Cole says, "You know Kim is going to be gushing over you when we step through those doors." I smile, knowing that’s exactly what she’ll do. Kim is the owner of this little diner if the name didn't give it away. She's in her late fifties and is like the aunty we never had growing up, always spoiling us with extras on our plate, pinching our cheeks and never taking no for an answer.
As we step through, the bell above the door jingles and Kim pops her head from over the counter and squeals at the sight of us, "My boys!!! I've missed you! Let's get you seated and fill up your bellies. You two have some explaining to do!! Why have you left it so long?" Me and Cole laugh and do as we are told as she usher's us to a table. She calls over one of the servers as we get comfortable "Stacey, get these boys anything they want," then turns to us, "I'll be back in a second to hear all about what you've been up to." She hurries off towards the kitchen.
The waitress, Stacey, smiles and pulls out her pad and pen "What can I get y'all?" She looks barely 18, with strawberry blonde hair, a slim build and a faceful of freckles.
"Just two black coffees and two stacks of pancakes with syrup and bacon," I say without looking at the menu, Aunty Kim's pancakes are the best.
"OK they'll be out in a jiffy," Stacey remarks cheerfully and goes to put our order in the kitchen.
"So Cole, where is Linc?" I ask.
"Oh you know Linc, he's got a stick in his ass about having to go over a shipment. Plus he's taken Alessandro out for the day," Coles adds. Alessandro is Lincs son, he would be 7 now. That kid hasn't had it easy with his mother overdosing. He means the world to Linc obviously but also to me and Cole, we treat him as our own, he’s family.
